This was great, a real lifesaver. I'd purchased fancy 'fairy' lights for the little Christmas tree for my grandson. I was so excited when they and their remote controller arrived but I couldn't plug it in to anything but a USB port. Where's an almost three year old going to plug that in?? I went back to Amazon to find a power device which hooked up to a USB. Voila! Perfect, insert several batteries, plug the lights and there's a tree any three year old would love. Does what I need it to do and we will see if it lasts. It is not the heaviest duty item and will not last long if manhandled but should be fine if handled appropriately. Hardest thing about this was figuring out how to open it up. Push in the lid on the opposite side of the hole and push it off. You have to push a bit harder when the batteries are in it. It took me a bit to figure it out but easy once you know. I feel a bit stupid for taking so long to figure it out. I'll buy more if it lasts for a bit and the price is right. ... show more

If you are tired of rechargable batteries that dont deliver what they promise. You love this product. I use this and regular alkaline to run mini security cameras. There are few rechargable battery on the market without autoshutoff. Well alkaline doesnt need autoshut off and lasts a lot more than rechargable. Until rechargables are fixed I am using this product and Alkaline to run crutial equipment that still need continous power and 1.5v ... show more

on off switches are bad, one did not work one had to push it down for connection. neither of them functions connected directly into a stander USB. I had between this and my phone and that worked on one of them. Find a different vendor this is unreliable find another one, this may not work purchase from a different More reliable vendor!!! ... show more

I've never found that portable devices that can be charged to charge something else are adequate. 4 good ol' aa batteries do the trick with this. As long as you have batteries, you can charge anything with a usb plug. I'm quite happy to have found this.

Other than figuring out how to remove the lid - which is easy once you realize that little hole on the lid helps you move it towards the connector end - just what I wanted. Will use it to power a 5 v LED strip light on a homemade lantern using NMHydryd rechargeable batteries 4 ea. Bought 2 of them. They both held the 4 batteries well.
