  • Get rid of those old hard drives you have laying around
Color: USB-A Adapter with power supply
I'm so glad I bought this USB to SATA adapter! I had a bunch of old hard drives laying around, and I wanted to see if I could get any data off of them. I was worried that it would be difficult or time-consuming, but this adapter made it so easy. I simply plugged the adapter into my computer and then plugged the hard drive into the adapter. My computer immediately recognized the hard drive, and I was able to access all of the files on it. I was able to transfer all of the data to my new computer in just a few minutes. The adapter is very well-made and easy to use. It's also very affordable. I highly recommend this adapter to anyone who needs to read or write data to an old hard drive. Here are some additional pros of this USB to SATA adapter: It supports both 2.5" and 3.5" hard drives. It has a fast data transfer rate. It's compatible with both Windows and Mac computers. Overall, I'm extremely satisfied with this USB to SATA adapter. It's a great way to get data off of old hard drives, and it's very affordable. I highly recommend it to anyone who needs one. ... show more

  • Works on my Xbox Series X!
Color: USB-A Adapter with power supply
Had some old hard drives laying around so I was just curious to see if it would work for more game storage on my console. Works great even for X/S enhanced games, and now I've got 2tb of extra space. I'm using an old laptop Seagate 7200 rpm so no need for that ac adapter either.

  • Ideal for creating backups over 100GB to external SATA HD
Color: USB-A Adapter with power supply
This device makes it relatively fast and easy to create backups for large amounts of files, pictures, and music to external SATA devices. Many people have rotating hard disks and older SSDs that were once the normal storage media for desktop and laptop PCs. PROs Provides USB 3 speeds to transfer files - faster than older USB 2 speeds. Excellent for cloning copies of entire disks with operating systems and programs to prepare for a possible disk failure using clone software - such as Acronis Simple to use. Small size. CONs USB 3 transfers are fast for large files BUT are slow with large numbers (over 100,000) of small files such as text email. This is partially an operating system issue. Not nearly as fast as transfers between M2 internal media on newer desktops. ... show more

  • Decent throughput but supplied USB 3.0 cable quality issues
Color: USB-A Adapter with power supply
On my initial connection of a 3.5" Toshiba SATA III hard drive the 5V supplied by the USB 3.0 port was marginal to just unreliable. This caused detection problems with Windows 10 resulting in the unit to be unusable. After using my own USB cable did access to the drive become possible. The most important performance metric is the sustained write speed during large file transfers; they averaged between 70-110 MB/s (Mega Bytes per Second) with some short dips blow the average at time. This is not a Hot-Swap adapter and will destroy the unit if attempted and the instructions are not very detailed. Conneecting the drive is accomplished while the adapter is not powered by the USB 3.0 port for both 2.5" and 3.5" hard drives. When connection to a 3.5" drive the 12VDC/2A is required and should be connected to the adapter prior to the USB cable for operation. Connection of the USB cable does turn on the adapter and will then supply power to the hard drive. A 2.5" hard drive only requires the USB cable and the 5VDC power provided by the port for the drive to spin-up and detected by the operating system. The physical strength of the device is fragile at best; use care when connect/disconnect a drive to be sure not to break off the SATA/Power connector. As a result this is more for a casual home user and will not last very long in a IT department with heavy use. ... show more

  • Fast copies
Color: USB-A Adapter with power supply
The disk duplicator that I'd been using for just over a year for backups and clones started flaking out. I got this adapter and was very happy that my operations were completing in a fraction of the time with zero failures.

  • Recovering from a failed hard disk drive
Color: USB-A Adapter with power supply
Just recovered files from a hdd that hung up, froze then ultimately blue screened me out with regrets of not backing up more often. I combo'd this product with a software called EaseUS Data Recovery and everything went quick and easy. Please note that if your hard drive shows up but wants you to format, DO NOT FORMAT! It's probably just in RAW format. Instead, go to EaseUS.com and download their Data Recovery Wizard Free. It will let you recovery 500mb of stuff, or if you leave feedback on twitter or facebook it'll go up to 2gb for free. It's a bit pricey but if you need unlimited, it's definitely worth buying! I know I'm promoting EaseUS, but I think that's fair, they just saved me my files! Even though it's pretty simple, if you need a quicky walkthrough for the software, here ya go: - Select the hard drive or flash whatever you're using, click the big ol scan button bottom right, let it do its thing. - When done, save your session with the button up topright(piece of paper with an arrow pointing left) this will let you get back to all the files again quicker for retrieval without having to do another full scan. - Browser on the left, find what you want to recover, check the boxes next to the items, save'em! Told ya it was simple! ;D Ok back to the product! The USB cord is sturdy and has a snug fit. Most of the time the USBs I get are a little loose or slide around, but not here! For the main piece that plugs into the harddrive, the weight of the hdd will make it bend when you try to plug the others into it so just plug those into the main first, then the hdd. Welp that's it! I hope for you the best in getting what you lost, if you had happen to you, what happened to me. Goodluck! Thank you WEme for this wonderful product! ... show more
