Don't get the asus case. It provides no protection the sides of the case, and as i put my ally vertically in my bag, this is a big reason for me to search for another case. I had a skull and co previously but that case didn't have quite enough clearance for my analog stickgrips. which brings me to the pros and cons of this tomtoc case. Pros: very slim and form fitting. has enough clearance for my skull&co grip case and analog stick grips (also from skull&co) ykk zippers great protection nice padded handle cons: if the padded handle could be something like one of the skull&co switch cases that can convert to strap, that would be cool, only because it would give another option of carry As far as this case is concerned, its near perfect for the ally if ur looking to just protect the ally and carry accessories seperately, like in a backpack or something. Otherwise, you'd need to look elsewhere, or wait for tomtoc to release a deeper version that accomodates accessories, like some cases they make for the switch. All in all, this is the perfect case for me. I love this thing P.S. the material on the outside is like a rubbery/foamy marterial that feels very high quality. I think i prefer this over the cloth material that their cases usually have. ... show more

No idea what these reviews are about! This case fits my Ally X absolutely perfectly (you do have to lift the little padded flap in the bottom to put it in). It’s nice and slim and exactly what I was looking for. TomToc stuff is great in my experience and I’m happy to find that they have a case that works well for this device. ... show more

Great quality case with a perfectly snug and protective fit. Outer shell is solid and a nice textured material. The case is low profile and custom built to fit the Ally, which it does with precision. It will not fit anything else within it outside of a polishing cloth and maybe a slim memory card or two in the pocket. If you are expecting you may be able to fit the power supply inside in any way, just know that it is not possible. However, if you are like me and mostly just concerned about the unit itself having a sturdy case to bring it wherever you go and don't mind bring a power supply separate if needed, you will not be disappointed. ... show more

Fits the device snuggly and provides great protection. There is no room for accessories, or charger, but I normally carry them separately with my laptop anyway. If all you want is just protect your ROG Ally, this is the case!

There’s not many great options when it comes to cases for the ROG Ally— especially when it comes to “slim-fit” smaller/lighter cases. Most of them are ridiculously large, designed to hold the charger, & sometimes even more, underneath the Ally. Seeing that the Ally is already a pretty big handheld as it is, I personally didn’t want my carrying case any bigger than it needed to be. I grabbed the Tomtoc case when I caught it on discount one day and am overall very pleased by the quality, ultra soft insides, slim fit & style; granted, it is still bigger than it looks & quite long, be aware, but so is the ROG Ally, I guess. The only reason it doesn’t get the full 5 stars from me is because the way it fits the ROG Ally is a little wonky IMO. Even without a case/skin or anything on it, it just barley fits— perhaps this issue is reasonable considering it’s a “slim fit” case but that however, is not the only way it’s wonky. The spaces/placement allocated for the Joysticks also don’t quite fit over the Ally’s sticks completely. I get what they were trying to do: cover up the buttons/sticks & everything with one elongated design— but it just doesn’t work right. Anyway, If Tomtoc would just fix the placement of the joystick spaces accordingly, I believe it would be a perfect case. ... show more

If you want a case just for the console and nothing else this is the case for you. not much bigger than the console but provides very good scratch and drop protection. It also has a collapsible carry handle.

do not fall for the item descriptions, the thumb sticks on the AllyX do not line up with the indents on the lid of the case. this should not be purchased for the X, may be fine for the OG Ally. beware!!
