    • Pretty good thermostat with lots of connections to fulfill your needs.
I had to replace my old thermostat, a simple round dial whose cover no longer functioned. I had a little trepidation with replacing it, and when I got this I was a concerned it might be more complex and problematic than it was worth. The instructions -- covering dozens of potential wires that could be hooked up, including both electric and gas settings, fan wires, and heat/cooling wires, with various letters and diagrams and a connection for hardwiring the thermostat to the electrical system, was a little intimidating. However, when I pulled off my old thermostat there were only two wires there, and looking at the connections I could see they were just "R" and "W". I hooked them up easily and drilled holes to mount my new thermostat to the wall, and was done. Knowing that it has all those options for various connections, however, gives me a lot of comfort that this thermostat would have fulfilled any of my needs. The readout is clear and the controls easy to manage. As noted, it's not programmable (the one downside of this device). The price point makes up for that. ... show more

    • Just what I needed
My thermostat went out and I found this one while searching for a replacement. I didn't need anything super fancy , just something to control the AC with the heat coming. This one fit the bill perfectly. Installation was simple. Instructions were clear and it even came with little labels for the wires so that there was no confusion. I was able to remove the old one and install this one in about 10 minutes. The controls are very basic and easy to use. The temperature seems to be accurate based on another thermometer I have inside and the system works flawlessly.     • Easy to read display
I wanted to replace the very old mercury switch thermostat in our bedroom, and this basic electronic thermostat was just what I was looking for. The instructions are straight forward, although my old thermostat was old enough that the terminal labels didn't comply with any of the labels in the manual, so it took some digging on the internet to identify the functions of the wires. But once I had that figured out, this installed in just a few minutes. The display has nice large numbers on it, making it very easy to read, and setting it is entirely intuitive. Much better than trying to guess where to set the old mercury switch thermostat, where the numbers on the dial did not appear to correlate at all with the actual temperature setting. ... show more
