The lathe looks nice, construction is sturdy and high quality, 8" maximum diameter with convenient variable speed knob. Have had for 2 months and now the varible speed is acting up. I never know to what speed its going to It was a goo value till now. A little under powered for bowls. Probably good for pens. It was good for turning corks for my original needs but now this . Buyer Beware.

it worked fine,,, for about 30 minutes then the belt came off 3 times. after the 3rd time it got chewed up by the motor pully and is no good now. There is no way to get replacement parts. do not buy this item, find a lath from a company where you can get parts because things like the tiny rubber belt will breck ! since this review the company contacted me and says they are sending me a new belt ? they said they want to keep purchasers happy, we shall see ? well UPDATE, they sent me new belts then after 15 minutes the motor stopped ??? junk, do not buy this item. company support did send me a new belt but the item is a piece of junk, will make a good boat ankor. unless you just want to make pens or chess pieces , do not buy this item, save yourself a head ache and waste of money. you get what you pay for !!!!! ... show more

WoW!!!! This machine is fun, as a beginner it’s easy to use. Tech support could be a little more helpful in either adding more accessories, or give more information on where to get a drill Chuck. Other than that, I rate it very HIGH!
