Yes there are many redundant versions of these here to buy and I chose this one randomly for price and it served its purpose well and we actually put a whole windmill together with it... the windmill had many different nut/bolt sizes and rather than changing out sockets all of the time this came in handy (we had more than 1) and it was a big time saver. You can hook it up to a drill or a socket wrench depending on your needs. I wouldn't try to use it on something like a lug nut on a car or something with a high torque to it as that probably not what it is designed for. I bought this socket for my dad for Father's Day (seeing many positive reviews), and at first glance it looked fine. But after testing it a couple times, one of the pins did not come back up. We were able to push it with a small screwdriver from the side, but after pushing the pin in question down again, it still didn't come back up. A spring or something must be broken. Of course, there's no return policy for this, so I'm stuck with a defective socket. If the company can't guarantee good quality on their products, they need to at least offer some kind of return policy. No dice here! EDIT: BLENDX took note of my review, and have since sent me a replacement socket, free of charge. It works fine, no dead pins. Thanks, BLENDX! ... show more

    • Every Tool Kit Needs One
This product is great for any DIYer's or experienced shop masters tool kit. I have a bad habit of striping screws so this is helpful to keep in my kit for that and its a lot easier to use this for nuts and bolts rather then a wrench so this is my tool of choice for that. The reason I give it four stars is for two reasons one it did start to rust on me but also partially my fault for leaving it outside but the second main reason for the four stars is it doesn't always grab onto screws which can be frustrating especially when its stripped. Overall I defiantly recommend this product for any tool kit. ... show more

    • Not What I Expected
If you are looking for a socket that will handle S hooks or weird shaped screws, a word of caution. This is a VERY shallow socket. It will not hold an S shape hook, or most screws. You have to pre-drill the hole for the hook, hand screw the hook in so it does not fall out, they change the drill to this socket and finish the job. Does NOT work like the one you see on commercials. However, it still saves me from using a metal pole to put in an S shape hook. At this time of year I am putting up bird houses and bird feeders and bee traps, so if I pre-drill all the holes at once, put in the S hooks, switch out the drill attachments, and then screw in the hooks with this gizmo, it still saves me time. However, I was under the impression you could actually get the hook to fit in the socket. Not true. It is also quite narrow. But the adapter is a nice thing to include in the package. ... show more

1. Great little gadget. Just have to be realistic about item purpose. It' not intended for hardcore commercial application. Rather, it's intended to be used by homeowners around the house and within this application it's a handy little tool. Definitely recommend having one in the tool box! 2. Item arrived with the drill adapter missing. Contacted seller and in less than 2 hrs seller replied with an email and an attachment showing an invoice for a new shipment order. Replacement arrived just 2 days later and seller didn't sent just the missing drill adapter but the whole set. All with no questions asked. Now Blendx's got a customer for life. The media could not be loaded. This is the invention of the decade! My garage is downstairs and at the other side of the house, and I can't bring my entire toolbox upstairs every time I need to make an adjustment to a nut or bolt. Never fails - I bring a few sockets up, and they're never the right size. A universal socket does it all! Covers nut sizes 1/4" to 3/4" and metric from 7mm to 14mm too for the foreign stuff. It's a spring-loaded cartridge that snugly surrounds the nut or bolt and adjusts automatically to the correct size without stripping it. Comes with a standard 3/8" drill adapter too. Seems to be a quality product. Take the time to learn to use it correctly. In other words, make sure the socket is FLUSH over the bolt as it slips off easily, if not. I don't have a use for it just yet, but seems to work fine on none damaged bolts.
