I have an umbilical hernia that has been getting worse for several years. It is difficult and scary to try to gently squeeze a plum-size section of intestine (full of semi-digested food) back into your abdomen where it belongs. While I await surgery to correct this condition, I am enjoying the relief provided by the Belltop Hernia Belt. The belt is about 5 inches wide, made of a strong, stretchy, breathable material that adjusts and closes using overlapping hook-and-loop ends. It has two built-in vertical reinforcement strips that maintain the 5-inch width while the belt is worn. The hernia is kept in check by an adjustable oval pad with a bump in the middle. This is one of those things that, if it works, you never know if it doesn't. I wear shorts with a 40-inch waist and bought the L/XL. I wear it outside my shirt when exercising and the fit is fine. No problems with comfort.

    • Would be a 5 star except for one fatal flaw - velcro "hook" on wrong side- scratches skin.

Nice belt but the velcro attachment pieces are on the wrong side. The "hook" part of the velcro is very scratchy and unfortunately that is the side that faces your skin. The soft "loop" part faces away from your skin. Yes you can flip the belt around but then the logo (which is a piece of rubber stitched on ) rubs against your skin. Maybe I just got a incorrectly sewn one, but beware ... show more

So the first thing I noticed when I pulled it out of the bag was it smelled of a fish market. I thought okay whatever, I'll clean it. Still smells awful, I sprayed it down with fabric odor killer, nothing. I had 2 hernia surgeries in 3 weeks and I was super bummed because I didn't even want to use it because it would rub the stink on everything. It was comfortable but when I took it off my SURGICAL area smelled of rotting fish (no infection just stinky from binder). Super disappointed, my partner spent his hard earned money on this. ... show more
