    • Good rack but the arms a bit small
This is a perfect rack for someone who is a DIYer and has some extra lumber left over. The arms are a bit short but most people dont mill their own lumber. If you have a small amount this will work perfectly for you. Its strong and will stand up to some abuse as well. I have a good amount of lumber laying around as i mill my own and this rack didnt work for me as its limited compared to my home built version.     • Good option for storing unused lumber and pipes off the ground
I have a constant list of projects to do around the house, and I got this to keep unused lumber and pipe out of the way while I am working on other projects. You can easily keep quite a few 2x4s, molding, and other items like pipe. While it says that you can hold up to 330lbs on the shelves, I highly doubt that you could get that much wood on them to make them that heavy. It seems like there isn't enough room between the shelves to make that happen. I do wish that the shelves would tilt a bit toward the back so I could more easily hold conduit and PVC pipes without it rolling off; on that shelf, I drilled a hole and added a bolt to keep the items from rolling off. ... show more

I think this metal lumber rack is made really well. There was a flaw in one of the wall brackets, (as seen in the last photo) - the center hole was off line. I adjusted the placement of the holes, so all is good. But had I predrilled holes using 1 wall bracket for all three wall brackets, I would have wasted a lot of time. That aside, I believe this is a good wall bracket for lumber and other heavy items that need storage on a wall. I also had to use heavy duty anchor bolts on the left bracket. If you can hit studs, these hangers are completely solid and can hold a ton of wood. The (mildly confusing) instructions say to wait and mount the arms till you mount the base but I went ahead and attached the arms before hand because it was easier. And you can still get to the mount holes if you raise the arms up. This was I could test fit the wood holding space.     • Well designed and sturdy, nice finishes
These feel really strong for lumber. Each level comprising 3 rungs can hold up to 330 lbs, so that's more than enough for the average wood worker's needs. In theory, if you are storing 12 foot long freshly pressure treated 2x4s, you could overload these, so you have to be mindful not only of what these rungs can hold, but what the studs you mount them to can handle as well. The rungs are spaced 6 inches apart and each of the rungs pivots on the screw that attaches it to the wall rail, so in theory you could fold these up to get something larger than 6 inches on a lower rung. In practice the lower rungs hit the upper ones, so you lose some horizontal storage space to that, but it could work for certain situations. I like the finish colors with the orange rungs against the black wall rails, and the plastic plugs in the rungs to eliminate sharp metal edges sticking out. I suppose if you had these at eye level, the orange helps you see these so you don't run into them but I mounted mine above head height to avoid that problem. I also like the little stick-on spacers they provide to take up the space between the rungs and the rails. They help prevent the rungs scratching up the rails and smooth the rotation out too. Some minor improvements: I wish they would have told me the size pilot hole to drill for the lag bolts, I had to research that. Also, the parts list was off by a factor of 3. The way I read it they are giving you the quantities for 1 rail with 3 rungs instead of the 3 rails and 9 rungs that the kit contains. Overall I'm really pleased with these, they really help organize my garage where I had some lumber stacked along the wall and some other odd-sized items leaning into corners. My wife parks on that side so this is giving her some extra room to maneuver too; well worth the money. ... show more

    • Simple and sturdy
I installed these in less than 15 minutes after a lengthier time of deciding where to put them. I definitely recommend using your own common sense instead of trying to follow the somewhat confusing directions. I put the 2 ends 64" apart on studs which allowed me to center the middle one at 32" and still hit a stud. (I would've liked the ends at 80" to provide a little longer base, but there's obviously no stud at 40", and having an off center middle would've drove me nuts!) In the end, 8' boards have about 16" hanging off either end and 6' boards still rest on all 3 rungs horizontally. They are strong enough to hold about whatever you can put on them within reason. I use the top rungs to hold some plywood and OSB odds and ends upright and leaning against the wall; it gets these items up off the floor to make it easier when I hose out the shop. I think for what you get, $43 is a decent price; I may get more if I can decide on yet another piece of wall to give up! ... show more

    • Very Solid
These are very solid. Great design. Easy to install. I would trust these with a lot of wood. They hang nicely and when not in use, they can fold up out of the way. The finish on these are really nice and bring. Hopefully I won't hit my head on the bring arms. The price of around $40 is great.
