The unit has to be empty of water probably over 12 hours which is not bad. My wife has medical problems and the humidifier helps make the house more comfortable to her in the long run. Very satisfied with the unit and it works very well. We’re happy with it.

This is a really great size. I needed this because a room had broken ventilation, so it became super humid very often. It’s very nice that this is large because I do not have to empty it very often. Pretty good performance. I found you can just put it in the basement and all your rooms upstairs will have a desired humidity level. But you need to balance between an increased electricity's bill and a good quality of living environment.

    • Why Use a DeHumidifier? Well, It's Mostly the Humidity that Makes You Swelter
You've heard the saying..."It's not the heat; it's the humidity". That is an absolute fact. Most people can tolerate higher temperatures if they don't have high humidity. When I moved into my home, I asked whether there was a dehumidifying option with my AC. I was told that to better dehumidify, you needed to crank up the AC which would remove more of the moisture from the air. That means turning the AC down to a lower temperature and it also, more importantly, means paying more money for your electric bill. Well, I didn't want to do that, so I got this dehumidifier. A central AC system uses an average of 3000 to 3500 watts per hour and if you crank up the AC, it goes higher. So, cooler, less humidity, but higher electric bills. Not good. This dehumidifier unit, and I can only mention this from the seller site, uses about 195 watts per hour and works to pull the moisture out of the air in an area of about 1795 sq. feet. That would probably work for many areas of your homes. And, if you can keep the AC set higher by a few degrees...well, that could translate into savings. According to the US Department of Energy, each degree you raise the AC temperature on your thermostat, can save you as much as 3% to 5% on your energy costs. Just one degree. If you could keep the AC set 5 degrees higher, I wonder how much you would actually save. Of course, I'm sure that depends on the area you live in. The dehumidifier has a lot of useful features. It has a child lock so it can't be messed with. It runs quietly and the decibel level is lower than most table fans. You can set it to turn off when you want. One thing I'm not crazy about. The tank volume is .53 gallons, which is a little over 4 pints of water. It has a sensor that shows red when the tank drawer, which pulls out needs to be emptied. It does not say it automatically turns off when it's full and this is a feature I would really prefer. It may, but the seller site was not clear on this. Also, supposedly, if you want continual drainage, there's a plastic hose that you can attach, and the unit will drain into to something like maybe a bucket. This would probably work for a laundry room, but I don't think I would like something like that in any living areas of my home. This equipment can be a cost saving measure. Just one caveat...if you're like me, you might not remember to empty the tank regularly and I wonder what happens then. Before you buy, check with the manufacturer about whether the dehumidifier automatically turns off when the tank is full. ... show more

It’s not huge but it does the job well. I like how it’s very quiet but is powerful enough for room size. You don’t understand how much I appreciate this machine during foggy days. I live in SF, which is known as a fog city, we need this machine to stay dry to prevent humid.

Perfect for basement or just the main floor. The handle is helpful for carrying as well as the wheels on the bottom. It doesn’t roll easily so it stays in place. I am surprised at how easy tiny the humidifier is but it just runs well.

I like the looks of this and how quickly it starts doing its job. The size is also great…not too big, but not tiny and it can be rolled around, too. It’s working well in the space I have it and it got started taking moisture out of the air within minutes. The price seems a little high, but I’ve paid more for ones that are only a little more powerful, so it’s also not unreasonable. Happy overall with the looks and performance and how easy it’s is to operate and get it going. ... show more
