Crank direction lever is a little tricky. It works but you need coordinate tension of load on the line and turn the crank handle at the same time while switching the lever. Not sure if that come across understandable but it's just a little tricky getting the direction lever switched between in and out. It works fine though for what I need. I unspooled the cable and hook it came with and was able to spool three 1/4" cheap poly ropes from Harbor Freight. It’s probably going to be a great product… besides the fact it rusted after the first rain. The gear sprocket thing immediately begins rusting. If you want this to be a nice piece for a boat trailer, you’ll replace it after a year of use.
