  • Still the best value.
Size: 5ft Bed Pattern Name: T3 Soft Tri-Fold Configuration: 2005-2021 Frontier
Still the best value. This is the second one I’ve purchased and it’s still the best value. Purchased the first one 6 years ago and it held up very well. Purchased again for a new truck and has the same quality. I do noticed there is only retainer brackets for each end versus a middle retainer bracket in the previous version. It a show stopper! Very easy to install! ... show more

  • Easy to install
Size: 5ft Bed Pattern Name: T1 Soft Roll-Up Configuration: 2022-2024 Frontier
Just purchased this new to me 2023 Nissan Frontier and the first thing I wanted to do was put a tonneau cover on to protect items in the bed of my truck. I had a 2017 Ford F-150 and bought this tonneau cover for it and loved it. Same story here, easy to install and looks good. I had the tonneau cover on my F-150 for approx. 3 years and held up in Wisconsin snow and winter weather. I’d say it’s 99% water proof. Only time will tell how the Frontier tonneau cover holds up but I’m sure it’ll do great as it did with my F-150. Would purchase again and recommend it. ... show more

  • Great Tonneau for the $$ But Needs MacGyvering
Size: 5ft Bed Pattern Name: T3 Soft Tri-Fold Configuration: 2005-2021 Frontier
I ordered this tonneau for my 2012 Nissan Frontier short bed. Based on the reviews, I knew fairly well what I was getting. That said, I had to do a bit of MacGyvering to get it to work right, sit flat and keep the water/rain out of the bed. There's no way mine would do this right of the box. First off, a review of the hardware quality: Cheap. But you probably already know that. When you buy the least expensive tonneau on Amazon, you ain't getting brushed stainless steel and aircraft grade aluminum, you get plastic! Be gentle with the hardware. Don't over-tighten things or wrench on things or you'll bend and brake them. That said, the hardware is plenty strong enough to solidly hold the tonneau on at freeway speeds. The Install Keeping it flat: In order to keep the back tonneau corners flat and touching the bed (which they won't do out of the box), I had to unscrew the tonneau's holddown crossbar, slide it toward the rear of the tonneau by about 4" then re-screw it to the side frames. This requires a drill/driver and a #2 Philips bit for those who are interested. The screws are self-drilling and the frame is aluminum so it's actually pretty easy. Moving the crossbar (and hold down points) also moves the holding pressure toward the middle of the panel. This keeps the rear of the panel flat on the bed. Why they didn't design it this way in first place is beyond me. The original position is way to close to the panel hinge, putting hardly any pressure on the back of the panel. Sealing it to the bed: The side seals work great (I have plastic bed edges). The problem is at the front. The front bed edge is about 1/4" lower than the sides. This means there's a gap between the front bed edge and the tonneau seal. No beuno. Fortunately, the kit coms with 1" wide foam, adhesive back weather stripping meant to somehow (according to the instructions) seal the tailgate. This thought is pure lunacy since there's simply no way to seal the sides of the tailgate with weather stripping. I put it to better use: I cut it in half lengthwise giving me two long 1/2" wide strips. I stick the strips, one on top of the other, onto the front bed edge, giving me a nice even surface, and leveling it with the side edges for the tonneau to sit on. Turns out the tonneau is about 1/2" too short to sit perfectly on top of the weather stripping, but it does work because it butts up next to it, keeping water out. The Tailgate: With the last scraps of weather stripping, I filled the gap between the top edges of the tailgate and the bed. This gave an even surface for the rear of the tonneau to sit on. My truck is dark grey so you don't even notice the black weather stripping. I did not bother trying to seal the tailgate sides. The results: Terrific!! Just spent a weekend in the mountains with tons of heavy rain and snow! All the gear in the back stayed nice and dry. It is not perfect because some moisture still gets in around the tailgate, but not enough to matter or worry about. The tonneau also looks good. Stitching is even, seams are nice. Vinyl (or whatever it is) is taught and even across the bed. I'm a huge fan of truck bed versatility and this tonneau gives me exactly that. Oh, and that stupid little LED bed-light they give you as a bonus? Turns out it's useful! I stuck it to the left inside edge of the bed, facing the front, and it actually lights up the bed well enough to see in at night. Whodathought? All in all, I don't regret the purchase. I'm a DIY guy so making the mods didn't bother me. I put in some work but saved some $$$. For those expecting perfect fit and function right out of the box? Well, you roll the dice on this one. Some reviewers say yes, some say no. If you're prepared to do a little MacGyvering, get it and spend those extra frog-skins on beer as you celebrate your stylie and functional new tonneau! ... show more

I wasn’t sure if this would work with. 2023 Nissan Frontier and the utility track. I found mixed reviews. But installation was easy and it fit perfectly. I preferred that the cover not attach to the utility track so that I wouldn’t lose capability. • Nissan Utility Track install is challenging but worth it.
Size: 5ft Bed Pattern Name: T3 Soft Tri-Fold Configuration: 2005-2021 Frontier
Nissan Frontier CC 2015 w/Utility Track System: UPDATED: After a long trip and some of the stronger storms I have stayed on the road thru, I will upgrade the rating to 5.0-. No water intrusion other than as noted below and the side winds were 40+ mph. It seemed solid and showed no signs of lifting or shifting. Love it. ============================================================================= Installation time: 2 Hours (1 person being extremely cautious)/ Installation Instructions: Poor / Fit: GREAT / Supplied H/W: Good / Explanation of Equipment and H/W: Very Lacking. Overall a great product, but better documentation is needed (Even if they just put a PDF online!) Thanks again for the previous comments that warned to loosen the Utility Track Rails to install the supplied adapters The only reason found for needing the adapters, is that the bottom of the track rail would interfere with the tightening hardware (Knobs/Latch) if you tried to just use the upper part of the track. You will lose some utility for the bed extender as noted by others. Special Notes: You need a T-40 Bit to loosen the tracks. Once you loosen the rails you can actually get the rear adapter in from the back without running it the full length from the front. You need to remove the end blocks but their reinstallation is optional, since the rear adapter prevents the bed extender from sliding out the back. GLITCH: For a track installation you need to reposition the front latch mechanisms to the middle position (they came on the outside one). A #2 Phillips is required. Glitch is because the instructions don't even talk about it! The rear latches are already in the middle position. The set screws for the adapters are poor quality soft metal and easily strip the head (CAUTION: only lightly tighten the set screws until final fit is complete!) Tyger provides a "Tailgate" weather seal with no explanation. I used it to seal the gaps that are formed because there are Plastic Bed protectors on the sides but the front bed wall does not have one. So, the front corners do not seal using just the cover's Q-seals. I think the intent was to use it to seal the bottom of the tailgate to the bed, (installed on the tailgate itself). However, that would still leave the bottom corners unsealed and the drag suction from high speed in the rain sucks some moisture back into the rear lower corners of the bed. The cover sealed to the top of the tailgate without any problems, this is not a Q- style crush seal, so it allows you to open and close the tailgate without damaging the seals. No other leaks were found, using the "Tailgate" weather seal on the front wall of the bed. Do a LOOSE install with the rails slightly loose and the adapter set screws lightly tightened. Find a couple of long rubberbands or Velcro strips (like used for gardens) to secure the rear latches in the stowed position before you fold the top for the second fold. Otherwise it is possible that they could drop out of position and puncture the cover as you fold it. Never force the second fold to lie flat! Unfold the cover and verify the fit while extended. Check the positioning of the brackets then lie on your back and tighten the hardware. I just completed the install and one Wet-run in the rain. I DID update the comment after its installed for a while. I would love to give it aN UNQUALIFIED 5-Star because it seems to be high quality materials (except the set screws) and LOOKS GREAT, but better instructions and explanations are needed. Most mechanics will have no trouble, however for some the loosening of the rails and need to move the front latch bolts on the cover are not obvious and not explained. Yep, I would order it again. Especially with these notes before starting, thus no frustration factor for finding them unexpectedly. A two person initial install should be about 20 to 30 minutes. Removal for full bed usage is required and a good storage bag is provided with cover. Reinstallation and realignment should be about 5 to 10 minutes by yourself. ... show more
