I used this to plant asparagus roots. It was easy to move the auger around at the top of the ground to widen the hole. I plan on using it this Fall when it's time to plant flower bulbs. It is not easy for a child to use; you need to be able to hold on to the drill firmly.

Great price for a handy tool I'm suprised local big box hardware stores didn't carry. 2 augers small and a medium with a neat pair of gardening gloves one with plastic claws for digging. The gloves were a bonus but the claws with one use are coming off but they weren't the reason i bought this to begin with. I would not recommend a little cordless drill unless it is heavy duty or soil is loose, i could smell the motor on my ryobi cordless drill burning from the strain but then again its a crappy drill. Using with a heavy duty drill will also save your wrists turning at slower speed. ... show more

works well. My son had to set the drill power but it works well (yes, the grandson borrowed it also). It goes fast which makes the soil fly all over but that is OK because it preps the soil for more uses besides bulbs. Don't know what is with the goofy glove tips....I was opposite handed and couldn't imagine using them anyway. The auger does the job. ... show more

Last to class on this one, wish I had known about this year's ago. I have a couple hundred plants. Digging is something you will have to do with this many plants, trust me. Instead of Digging like some sea turtle at the beach , I can drill a hole in the ground in seconds. Worth every penny I paid.

Had no idea the drill was so powerful. No fault of the Auger but should have had a warning that if it caught a root, it could be dangerous. Otherwise, it made great holes for my bulbs but ended with an emergency room visit and a 6 week cast. Ladies, be careful. Use both hands on you drill.
