I have accidentally pulled out from the bathroom drywall a towel hanger improperly installed by the previous house owner, which accident costed me three broken ribs and two gaping holes in the drywall. The ribs have fused on their own, but the drywall I had to fix myself. Now, fixing drywall is a nasty job and I am not a trained and experienced contractor, so I opted instead for covering the holes with a white PVC board. Consequently, I had to predrill the board mounting holes through the 3/4 in white PVC board + 0.5 in drywall sandwich and into wood posts behind the drywall. I have ordered on Amazon a wall post detector, #10 2 1/2 in flat head Philips zinc plated wood screws, the pre-drill bit, a sturdy towel hanger plus some sticky white vinyl dots for masking the screw head openings. The above combination of tools and material worked out very well. In particular, the counter-sinking part of the bit proved very useful so as to sink the screw heads below the board face level. I needed to apply some serious torque to make the last few turns of the screws into the wood, but I did not mind, for at least I knew that the resulting joint came about structurally sound. Then I have covered the holes in the board with the sticky vinyl dots and finally, I affixed the hanger to the board using the screws provided by the manufacturer. Seem to work okay for the countersink, but the included bits seem to have a weak spot where the bit is pinned to the hex shaft. The first one I used lasted about 30 holes in softwood and didn’t even make it through one project. I didn’t take a photo, but the snap looked identical to photos in other reviews here where it snapped at the pin. I bought it for the countersink and you can replace the bits so it’s not a complete waste. Minor, but it also would have been nice to include even a cheap reusable case rather than just have something else to rattle around in a drawer or empty screw box. ... show more

So far only used smallest and largest bit. The largest was only used on plastic, and was used to make drain holes in some Halloween pails, slow drilling worked well to not crack the plastic pails, to be used for plants.
