  • Not bad but not as described
Size: 1000W Color: Red
Ok so the story goes I was trying to hook up a house electric 400 watt max start up 450 heater and the sad thing is you can’t use the cigarette lighter socket which totally defeats the purpose of the cable least to me now I know it’s not stable to the fact that socket’s can only be pushed to 150 watts maximum one it will blow the fuse and if you put a 30 amp fuse then you risk the chance of causing the wires to burn and take out your ride again this new age your telling me we can’t run products off the lighter socket? Lies of course you can but unfortunately this inverter gives you long cigarette socket cable but gives you 18in battery cables how is that going to work ? Again it doesn’t so now your spending 60 dollars for new cables to permanently mount this inverter but I don’t want to keep it permanently just need it for 12 hours or so less after going to Lowe’s and buying 3foot of 6gauge cable and connectors now I’m over 200 hundred dollars for this temporary project I get it all installed only to find that this inverter can’t handle the load saywhat?!!! But I read the description and it says you can I research this before I bought this thing so now it just sits there and beeps the heater is max 450 and runs on 400 watts but this one is a 1000 watt inverter I should be well under the maximum of this inverter.so needlessly it’s a gods inverter if you using it for a laptop or a pencil sharpener or a phone charger but everything else that world needs it for your out of luck on this one , so I had to buy a 1500 watt inverter and i ran two heater and a laptop and a charger so buy a 1500 not the 1000 that way you will have plenty of power to run tools tv microwave and it comes with longer cables and a heavy duty power cable , unfortunately all inverter you buy at the store they are now not coming with any power cables . My advice is 3 foot 6gauge cable and connectors from Lowe’s or who ever and you can mount or temporarily mount as I did the inverter and the cables will not burn up or turn red ... show more

  • Great value
Size: 1000W Color: Red
Was able to use a standard car battery to run 120v components. Works great with no issues. It does have a little spark when you set it up but other than that works great.

  • Advertisement is a lie!
Size: 500W Color: Red
Oh where do I being... first of all, this thing works, just not up to specs, and the specs are not what is advertised here either. It's ADVERTISED as 500W with 1kW surge. Right off the bat, the manual says 450W continuous and 500W peak power output. So keep this in mind, the Amazon page is 100% definitely lying. Additionally, the device claims to have a safety cutoff at 550W which will shut off the AC and produce a repeating 4 beep alarm. This feature "works", many times has it cut off my power and beeped at me, and the inverter is safe from harm. So what's the problem, besides this being a lower rating than advertised? Well, I never put a load on this inverter >500W, and yet the safety switch cut me off. Indeed, my watt meter rarely reaches 250W before the inverter shuts off. So it seems to me that this inverter not only has specs in the manual that are well below the advertisement, but its actual performance is once again well below the spec! But maybe it's my load that is somehow the problem? My load is a refrigerator that has a running amperage <1A, and startup rating of 4A. 4A * 110V ~440W. Plugged into a wall with my watt meter I see 420W maximum draw so it seems to be running up to spec. Already I trust this fridge a lot more than the inverter! But further investigation... Fridges are basically just compressors, which produce an inductive load. This can cause a low power factor (PF) which basically means the net wattage is unaffected but it causes a lot of push-and-pull and strains the power system, in this case the the inverter. I measured the PF to be around .85, peaking at 500VA, still within the inverter's specs. Long story short, this thing is DEFINITELY INCAPABLE OF DOING 500W! By the way, the provided cables are 12 AWG. 12 AWG is rated for a maximum sustained current of 20A, otherwise they get too hot. 20A * 12V = 240W. That's the maximum safe continuous power draw that the provided cables can do without overheating. Coincidence that the power off feature seems to cut power at about exactly that power draw? I don't think so. At least it's not a fire hazard... probably. I made my own wires for this after seeing the provided ones, hopefully I can use them on whatever replacement inverter I buy. ... show more
