  • For better or worse
I ordered 2 of these, the first one came with extra parts which was nice but the second one was missing some major parts, after contacting the seller they r going to send me the parts I need and hopefully it will go smoothly. It is really heavy, dosent move around well, chips really easily, but it Dose have a nice color, and because its so heavy it doesn't wabble around, the drawers r smooth when u pull them out, and they are a nice height too. Overall though it is a hassle because of the missing parts it is worth it once u set it up. (Its a good height for a TV) ... show more

  • Not easy but worth it
I ordered two of these bad boys. I assembled it myself with only a tiny bit of help from the hubby. Here’s the most important things you need to know. At first glance, the directions were confusing but once I lates everything out separately it was fairly easy. You are going to get. Large bag filled with a billion different types of screws. It would behoove you to separate them all and put them into ziploc bags prior to assembling. Also, you are going to need a special tool that I believe is called a punch. I’ve never heard of it but it basically punches a new hole for a new screw. Luckily, my husband had one since you have to make about 20 holes that the manufacturers decided you need to do because...reasons. Be VERY careful not to put pieces together upside down or backwards, it causes problems. There is a piece of hardware I’ve never seen before that is used to secure a screw in place. Once the screw is in place, you turn the piece a quarter turn and it stays put. It is crazy hard to unscrew this thing once it’s in place. The first set of drawers I put together was very easy, everything fit perfectly. The second one seemed to have had a glitch in the manufacturing. Holes didn’t match up, pieces were a bit longer than others, but with a few extra screws and wood glue, I got it to work. Finally, the absolute worst piece to assemble was the very bottom slab that sits under the bottom of the last draw. It touches the ground. No matter what, I couldn’t keep that thing from twisting and snapping the wood pegs. Other than that, it was ok. Took about 3 hours each to assemble. for the amount of money, it was worth it. ... show more

  • Piece of junk, fell apart immediately
I will start off by saying I chose this product because I needed a dresser ASAP and this product could be delivered to me the earliest. First, this isn't exactly a critique but something to note-- the package is EXTREMELY heavy. I am a fairly strong person but I could not get this up one easy flight of steps to my apartment in any way. I tried lifting it (impossible), I tried dragging it up, I tried pushing it up from the bottom, NADA. Even the delivery men struggled to bring it to my front door. Eventually I had to resort to taking the package apart in my lobby and carrying it piece by piece upstairs with the help of my roommate. Again not a critique necessarily, just a warning that you need several people and/or an elevator to transport this. Secondly, building this was incredibly confusing. Instead of written instructions the seller provides an app called BILT that has virtual instructions, including models of the pieces and tools and parts. This would be fine except the product did not label ANYTHING. None of the pieces were labeled which was okay because you can kind of make them out from the bad 3d models in the app. But the real problem here was the SCREWS. All of the screws, bolts, dowels, etc were packaged in one bag with no label or separation. Just counting from the app there are 12 different kinds of screws alone of different sizes and forms. I'm pretty good at building stuff and can make an IKEA bed in an hour easy. But this was a disaster. I kept using the wrong screws in the beginning because it's near impossible to identify "screw #26020" from "screw #26039", especially with the horrendous 3d modeling used in the app. Because of this I used the wrong screws a couple times when assembling the drawer slides, by the time I caught my mistake I couldn't remove all of the incorrect screws from their places because of their size (they can go in but not out) so I had to sacrifice one of the drawers. Sure fine, bad instructions but I was willing to take the blame for that one. I would recommend you first sort out all of the screws first but really I recommend you don't buy this product at all. But that wasn't all-- the product itself is extremely cheap. I was following the instructions exactly and this still caused the product to break. For example one part of the instructions asks you to assemble the back piece and slide it into the grooves in the back. Not only was this extremely awkward and near impossible (and the unfinished edge sliced a 5 inch scratch into my forearm btw, the 4th picture is from today which is 4 days after it happened) but it caused the wood to split and break apart at the ends. Again I was following the instructions EXACTLY. Again, I was still willing to let this slide, I just needed a quick dresser to put in my big closet so at least it wouldn't be seen by anyone. Well I finally finish building it after approximately 12 accumulative hours (the app says it should take 1 hour) and place it in my closet only for it to fall apart almost immediately. The drawer fronts do not stay in even if I tighten the camlock as much as possible. It's supposed to stay attached by only 2 small wooden dowels and a camlock, I don't know why this was designed without at least a couple screws involved? Again this happened literally immediately after assembling. I thought again I would stick through with it and reattach them with super glue. But then it became clear that this whole dresser is useless. As you can see in my picture the drawer bottoms are super thin, flimsy sheets of material that can support little weight. It buckled under the weight of the clothes I placed, and trust me it's not a lot as the drawers are pretty shallow -- a couple bras, a mesh bag of underwear, a couple pajama shirts. I didn't over stuff the drawer at all. As you can see from the picture, the drawers didn't fit snugly enough in the sliders to stay in place, the material buckles under very little weight, all of the drawer fronts fell off, and some of the drawers came out completely as well. Not to mention I could tell this was a fragile beast so I was handling it very gently. Again I am not exaggerating when I say this dresser went from fully assembled (3rd picture) (note the missing bottom drawer I was going to use as a shoe rack) to a pile of garbage in less then 24 hours (first pic). This was after spending many painful hours crouched over it and trying to make sense of the ridiculous instructions. I have never in my life taken the time to write an amazon review good or bad, but I am so disappointed in this product that I had to say something. This was for a product that cost me $150!!! I'm better off picking up a used dresser off someone's stoop and lugging it back home then investing in this scam. As if this any of this wasn't bad enough, now I have the tortuous task of dragging this extremely heavy piece of garbage out to the front of my apartment for the garbage truck to pick up. Whatever you do do not bother with this product. ... show more

  • Great for a small space, pleasantly surprised after the terrible reviews!
You get what you pay for. This piece was exactly what I needed for my small nyc bedroom. I was unsure if I would end up keeping a dresser here, as I didn’t know if it would make the space too cramped (not a fan of stubbing my toe every time I try to get in bed). So I figured I would order something cheap off amazon and if it didn’t work out it wouldn’t be a big loss. Shipped in a box. Very heavy (had to get help to carry it to the apartment). Took me about two hours to put together with a hammer and screwdriver. Just take the instructions step by step, take your time, and don’t loose patience. You will be fine. Placed in the room and it works perfectly! Holds an adequate amount of items - all my socks, pjs, workout clothes and I left two drawers for my SO. Overall very pleased with this purchase. Sure it isn’t as nice as a solid walnut piece that will last a lifetime, but it does the job and fits the small deminsions my space needed (I googled for hours trying to find a piece from west elm, crate and barrel etc. could not find one that would fit). I recommend! ... show more
