    • Rubber smells but okay for aquarium use
So only 4 stars because I’m using this for aquarium- ran it through the dishwasher and the rubber still has a pungent odor. I’m still using it in the aquarium, just wish they would have used a less stinky rubber for the bulb. Aside from that - works like a charm to spot clean aquarium- dispense food or tidy up the tank. ... show more

    • Great for fish tanks!
I have a small 5.5 gallon fish tank and I had overstocked it with guppies because I didn’t know better. My filter also needed to be replaced and wasn’t working as great so you can imagine all the little fish poops on the substrate. This baster did a great job of cleaning those up and since it’s big, it can reach to the bottom and all the corners pretty easily.     • Plastic Does not Last
Bought this in late 2017 and used it maybe twice a year which means as of today used it 8 times. Used it today and realized there was no suction. A closer inspection of plastic revealed many cracks in the plastic some as long as 3 inches. Up to now it was a pretty good baster. Good suction and handled the hot liquids just fine. Works great at first and quickly starts to not retain suction and you lose whatever is in it faster than you can get it where it's going. Just your average cheap plastic baster.

    • Good for things other than basting turkeys!
You can’t go wrong here. I bought this for a purpose unrelated to cooking (an automotive purpose) so it has been subjected to fluids that it wasn’t designed for. It has held up very well, cleans easily and doesn’t show any signs of giving up any time soon.
