All the cut up meat fits into the tray at once, it grinds my batch in just a minute or two and the whole process became quick, efficient and easy. I have had cheaper grinders in the past and thought it wasn't worth it to grind my own meat. This LEM grinder is worth the money. I started making sausage and this grinder is so good and so easy to use, I can grind a lot of meat in a very short time. I bought this to replace a cheaper grinder that annoyed me for the last time - had to be bolted to a table, was loud, hard to clean, and threw deer meat while grinding because the hopper opening was too large. Also had exposed/removable ball bearing rings that were a real pain to clean. This one (the #8) is much quieter, works great, solid, and heavy enough to not need bolting to anything. Super easy to clean especially if you have a bottle brush or something similar. All stainless steel except the hopper which I think is aluminum. Plus, I love that you not only get a coarse blade and a fine blade but a nice pop-out drawer on the front of the grinder to store the blades. Oh, and it also comes with an auger pulling tool so you don't have to turn it on and then off just to pop the blades out when you're done. ... show more

Ordered this to primarily simplify food prep for my three dogs and secondarily for use in grinding meat for my consumption. This has greatly simplified and shortened food prep time for my three dogs. They are raw fed and each eat different amounts, so cutting and prepping used to take hours for two weeks of their meals, 3 x 2meals x 14days. I now grind 18-24 pounds of meat + organs and can just weigh the right amount of ground meat in their prep containters. Takes about an hour to grind and portion. That includes weighing, cubing, grinding, portioning and clean up. 10lbs of meat and organs takes maybe 5 minutes at the most to grind once and maybe another 5 for a second grind. I don't even have to push the meat thru the hopper because the grinder just keeps pulling the cubed meat thru. It takes longer to cube than to grind. Prep and portioning is the majority of the time. The other thing to note is how quiet this grinder is. Noise is not even and issue while grinding. Cleanup is easy with the #8 stainless steel grinding mechanism. Soak everything for 5-10 minutes in hot water then clean. Have only ground beef a few times for burgers and immediately noticed the difference in taste grinding my own fresh meat. Eventually will try to make sausage. Just based on the time it's saved in food prep for the dogs, this has been a very worthwhile purchase, ... show more

Very powerful. Much quieter than the ones I used before due to nice materials and better quality. Heavy for a home. I wanted this one because of the stainless steel that is healthier than aluminum ones. And it is all stainless steel. Function is very simple. One button, one speed, no cable holder.
