I purchased mine in 2019 and another one for my mother in her nursing home in 2021. I liked the big readable red numbers (red is the best for sleep) and also the ability to dim the brightness before going to sleep. But after 3-4 years, the sliding dimmer switch began to fail and I had to tap and play with it to get it to the desired brightness/dimness. I'm ordering a new/different a slightly larger one (9"x4") from DreamSky and hope it is a better replacement. ... show more

If you need to check the time from across the room with a quick glance, this is your clock. I set it under my TV and always know the time. So easy to see. Also, A fine bedside alarm clock. But I use it for an across the room, near the TV clock. No issues with it, either.

Bought this for my son in December 2019. This week (July 2023) I went into his room while he was away at camp, and the display was black. It was definitely working the day before. Tried adjusting the settings and unplugged it for a while. The top nightlight works, but that's it. Bummed that it only worked for 3.5 years, but my son loved it so much that I am gladly ordering a new one. I know it hadn't sustained any damage between the time it was last working and when I found it dead, but I do know that it had fallen off of his nightstand at least a couple of time over the last 3 years, so perhaps that contributed to the failure? ... show more

    • Great Features- What your basic alarm clock SHOULD be

This is my second one- 4 months old so far. What happened to the first one? haha I put the battery in it and 3 years later after frequent and extensive power outages the battery leaked inside the clock. That's on me obviously. Loved the first one so much, getting a second one was a no-brainer. Second one had some slight improvements (am/pm icon instead of a pm dot, alarm bell icon instead of a dot, brightness slider instead of hi-lo switch). What is great about both my first and second: (1) in a power outage the display is blank to save power but you can see the time momentarily by touching the snoozed bar. (2) in a power outage the alarm will still sound- this is huge. (3) big bright display- easy to see in daylight for day sleepers- seriously- brighter than most other clocks I've had. (4) display can go as dim as you want if you don't want the glare at night. What was better about my first one: (1) louder- my first one was louder than any alarm clock I ever had- in my fifties so I've had a few. The second one I bought was still loud- as loud as any other alarm clock I've had that claims to be loud but it just wasn't as loud as the first. ------------ If you want a basic alarm clock that does not disappoint, this is the one. ... show more

Bought to replace my old alarm clock of the same brand that glitched out and stopped sounding the alarm after several years. It looks a little different now with AM/PM and a bell for the alarm. I liked the loud alarm because I am a heavy sleeper and this alarm is jarring enough to get me up. Still loud, still cheap, the battery backup actually powers the alarm so it will still go off if the power goes out. Good product. ... show more
