Perfect suitcase. Great size. Fits easily into overhead bins. Durable. Plenty of room for an average 3 day trip, maybe longer. Rolling is very smooth and the handle mechanism is one of the sturdiest I have used. I had no issues with the suitcase toppling over. While not overly heavy, this suitcase is a little weightier but I feel that is due to the quality materials and solid construction. The only issue I have noticed is that it has a tendency to roll away from you if you let go of the handle. ... show more

I bought this to as my small carry-on for my 15" laptop and a few things that I wanted to have with me when I bring my large 30" Delsey suitcase to stow under the plane. I've been buying and returning a number of other manufacturer's small carry-ons because they were too small for my computer. This one is perfect and my laptop fits in the top front pocket, so I have so much more room for other things. I wanted a carryon to avoid possible delays in getting luggage. I test packed it and it easily holds a week of clothes, including a sweater and a light jacket. This is my third Travelpro piece. Very durable with a lot of compartments to keep things separate and easy to get to.

Love the design and materials of the Travelpro Platinum Elite, but if the zipper doesn’t work, the product is useless. At a premium price like this, I expect not to have to bring it to a repair place after having only used it once. Even if it’s covered by the warranty, it’s a disappointment and a hassle. It seemed to be only 1/4 inch shorter than my old carryon, but it made a diff on recent flights on Turkish air! The overhead bin closed with a just a hairs breadth of space to spare. Nice! Very sturdy, very smooth rolling. Seems like it will last for the decades I usually keep my suitcases for.

    • Wheel broke on very first trip

I really do love the bag. The size is perfect and it feels super sturdy (especially the handle). The wheels allow the bag to spin effortlessly. The only issue is that on my very first international trip with this bag the wheel broke. I had to check the bag for one leg of the trip and that's all it took. I took my bag off the baggage belt and it wobbled. I looked down and discovered the wheel was damaged by the airline while handling the bag. Travelpro asks that you visit an authorized repair center so I did (Amar's Luggage & Shoe Repair in Cupertino, CA). The shop owner (?) comes out from the back and takes one look at my bag and says he can't fix it, then starts walking away. I ask him what I should do and he tells me to see if I can get the part needed and he'll put it on. WTF. I call Travelpro and they say he should have helped me (well, he's not my authorized dealer) so they suggest I go to the next nearest one ... 40 minute drive away. So, I spent my saturday driving to the shop and the very nice owner of this shop was able to fix it. He seemed to suggest I would be back though. I leave in 2 weeks for a lengthy trip to Philippines, South Korea, and India. I'll update this review when I get back. If it breaks again, I'm returning it. ... show more

    • Super lightweight and well designed

I've used the same wheeled carryon for nearly 15 years (Wilson Leather). I love the bag, but it's just old and so heavy. After shopping for years for other bags and finding them all ugly or completely irrational, I splurged on this one sight unseen. So glad I did. It's incredibly light and the design is perfect - the pockets, straps and handles are 100% rational. I won't ever need to check a bag again. Plus it's so good looking compared to my old black clunker (which I still use on overnight trips). The quality seems top-notch. I'll know better on my trip to France this month. ... show more
