I have used the omni 1 and now the omni 2 for over 2 million miles over 100s of flights. These are AMAZING. They have taken an unbeatable beating over the years, but never broke. I have some pretty good gouges in them, but they never went through the case. Everything inside arrives safe and unbroken. Not sure how they do it, but probably the flex in the case? Like I said, no idea how, but they protect everything within this super lightweight case set. I have 4 sets now. One for each family member. I would never buy another set. As a constant traveler, with a lot of gear, this is by far the best travel tool I have ever bought. You don't need to research, just trust me. They have so many miles and 100s of flights on them, and nothing has broken on them. One cool things about them. If you fill the medium case, it doesn't go over 23kg. Its design seems to be perfect for the weight requirements. I really appreciate the effort they put into designing the perfect size to comply with the weight restrictions. The large one can get over 23kg if you are not careful. The large is designed for the business class 32kg. It also fills to that weight with typical travel packing. The carryon does not have a pouch for your laptop or anything like that, but it ALWAYS fits overhead (un expanded of course) and rolls so easy. The beading on the outside makes it slide easy into the bin, and away you go. CON but not a CON: They are VERY slippery. They slide so easy on and off the carrousels and in and out of vehicles. ALTHOUGH they do move around when in the back. A lot. The slippery outside makes the luggage survive travel, but when in your car, you need to make sure they dont slide around. Tat is the con, but it is design feature to make it less likely to get stuck of damaged in the airport belts. ... show more

I sent these two pieces of luggage back because they ended up not being big enough. However, they were such a great quality. Samsonite is the very best and stand the test of airport abuse. They were very sturdy and the set was a great price too.

I've taken a few trips with these suitcases. Oversea flights and in the states. Barely any scuffs and the wheels have held up great. My last set, not this brand, lasted 2 trips and the wheels were broken off. I'll be headed on a few more trips so I'll see if they continue to hold up to airline travel. The big one is really big! Tons of space, almost too much where you pack and realize your suitcase is now over weight limit for flying. The middle size one is perfect size. I got two weeks of clothes (summer and beach clothes) in that one. The small one seems too small to fit anything, but it's very deceiving. The expander really gives the suitcase a lot of extra room. I use this for weekend trips. I can fit 3-4 days clothes and all my toiletries. ... show more

I travel a fair amount - once or twice a year - but I usually buy the non-name brand luggage. I figure it won't look new for long and the performance should be about equivalent. I was mistaken - to an extent. This was a splurge gift for my wife. We travelled all over Europe for three weeks and multiple times I was really pleased with how easily they rolled, how well they resisted dirt and scuffing and the functionality of the two halves of the clamshell (one with a zip closure and one side with an elastic 'X' to hold in large light clothes). I like that there is some give to the sides (keeps weight down, less likely to crack or dent) and protects the contents. IIRC it may come with a fabric bag for storing dirty laundry. We had one for sure. Super good idea. Tip: toss in a few packets of laundry soap for sink-washing. Bonus tip: bring two wallets. One with your native currency (and the excess cash you wish to keep out of reach the pick-pockets. This stays in the locked suitcase at the hotel.) I like the combination security lock for when we left them at a hotel. It's not true security but it will keep out a peeping francois or francine because it will show tampering and not easily hackable - if you set your own code. I bought the set in silver and it was distinctive from the many navy colored cases disgorging from the ragged maw of the baggage claim. The silver color looked a bit classy (probably classier than I looked, tbh. It was late June in Rome and hot. I was a sweaty colonial mess. Thanks for keeping it cool and classy, silver Samsonite). I cannot recommend this set without reservation. They are honestly too pricey. If not for wanting to spoil my wife with the upgraded quality luggage, I wouldn't buy them. I previously had what I thought was a very good travel case, but I was proved wrong when the case cracked after 2 uses. Paid more for it than I paid for the 2 in this set. Samsonite is a well known brand and I can see why it has been around so long. I love the color and how sturdy it is. It is roomy enough for my clothes on my 3 and 4 week trips. I bought these after much research. They were easy to roll on different surfaces. The stitching & zipper are of high quality. I absolutely loved the tsa lock & how this suitcase expands for extra space. Very slick design and worth buying!
