I ordered two sawhorses, each one came from a different carrier. Both had issues. One had the stop where the legs come in contact when they are opened fully all bent so that the legs went quite a ways beyond 90 degrees (see picture) The other had one of the legs twisted from top to bottom making for an unstable situation. Originally I was going to make due and jerry-rig something, but I decided safety was more important. Reading other reviews should have been my clue, but I had purchased the C650 model and was pleased with it. These were nowhere as well built. Would not recommend this model. The sawhorses themselves are great, but this price is double the price of these units at Home Depot. This listing is for only one sawhorse, not a pair.

    • Tip-Top in Every Way

These sawhorses (I bought 2) are solid, sensible and high quality. Many of the other sawhorses are plastic and, while that can be nice in some circumstances, a sawhorse is something you need to be able to count on super sturdy. This is the sturdiest of them all and it has nice little features — anti-slip surface across the top of the sawhorse, it neatly folds up and has a great carrying handle built into the top, the legs have adjustable feet (that’s an extra, but very definitely worth it) and there are slots at each end of the sawhorse for a board to be inserted (the boards go from one sawhorse to the other; in other words, once you lay plywood across everything, it creates a “table” — man, that’s ideal. If I were a contractor, I’d be able to trust the long-term durability of the sawhorses (being tossed into the truck at the end of each workday, etc.) — I’m a woodworker (not as a trade), so mine are put in place to create a worktable for cutting, assembly, painting, etc., then they’re folded and put away until another need arises. These sawhorses replace the plastic ones I had before — surprisngly, my search for these showed me almost all the sawhorses on the market are disappointing in any number of ways. These by ToughBuilt stand out from the group as convincingly superior in every way. If you happen to be frail or infirm, you might want to check the weight — they aren’t overly heavy, but they’re definitely a good deal heavier than plastic ones. These saw horses were exactly what I needed. I used them along with some 2x4s and plywood to create a temporary workbench. Sturdy enough for cutting 2x2s and framing a garden fence. My only disappointment is that the push buttons required to open the release latch can be hard to press in if the legs are not perfectly seated. Also, if you accidentally over extend the legs (while opening them) there is no “stop” and so the legs can easily bend the metal frame of the body. No big deal, I just bent it back and will be a little more careful with it. ... show more

...hype. I ordered these because I didn't want to make another pair of wooden sawhorses and the wooden ones I make are not collapsible. Some are, but mine are not. So I ordered these. I got them today. The boxes were about a third too big, but held together during shipping. Amazon once packed things fairly well, air bladders, paper, foam. I have not see that in a while. Things I get lately are just tossed into a box, sealed and shipped. Many things I get are damaged, enough that I see it, but minor enough that I can live with it rather than go to the hassle of shipping it back, and so it was with one of these saw horses. I don't know that this particular one was used, but it had been shipped before. Scratched, slightly twisted, and one set of legs wouldn't fit back into the body as the result of the twist, there was no plastic on it as was on the other, and it had light colored dust of some kind on it. I decided to let it go as I need more sawhorses for a project and I don't have time to build them. They are short. 29" floor to top of crossmember when set up. Anyone over 6' tall will be working bent over. A 2x4 does not fit tightly into the end notch, therefore the touted advantage of a stable platform for a plywood deck evaporates. The sheet metal frame is more flimsy than I thought it might be, even though I understand much more stiff and it would be heavier. The legs have that sharp stamped edge and I see a sliced finger if I don't use gloves to set them up. I will say this: once set up on a suitable surface they are absolutely vertically stable and I see how they would measure up to their weight ratings. They are not completely horizontally stable. They rock end to end just a bit and are light enough even with a plywood deck to resist forces parallel to the cross beam. I think they are worth what they cost. They are made in China. They are not what a tradesman would expect from a sawhorse. They are probably fine for a weekend DIYer. But then, a tradesman would build his own. ... show more

Solid stainless grade steel. Worth noting is the single-handed strap handle on top center, inserted in the abrasive surface to reduce slipping of work piece. Not found in product description, steel top has four 3/16" corner holes to allow mounting sacrificial board. Now, having it in front of me, I really appreciate the swivel rubber mounted feet and no sharp edges anywhere. I am 80 and a retired cabinet maker/woodworker. I'll never put this to its full capability but sure wish I had made this purchase years ago instead of the cheaper numerous saw horse investments I made, but now I am going to go out in style :) Fantastic rock solid notwithstanding delivery is worst I have ever seen. [Two steel saw horses (13lbs each), were simply tossed in battered cardboard box twice the necessary width with no manufacturer's packing.] OK, enough of the shipping issue ... show more
