I purchased this alarm because I am a very heavy sleeper. Set it up with the vibrator pad on a wood dresser. The audible alarm is not very loud in my opinion. The vibrator did wake me up, but in my usual struggle to move my body when I wake, it turned itself off, never to ring further. So I have no real use for this at all ... show more

    • Serviceable Alarm Clock with Mildly Effective Bed-Shaker Attachment

Picked this up for a heavy sleeper, but tested it out myself first and am not sure its going to be incredibly effective for that person. Realistically, in an era where everyone has their alarms on their phones, the only reason to get a device like this is the bed-shaker attachment. The goal is that the bed-shaker alarm will wake only the heavy sleeper, rather than have an alarm waking the entire household (or neighborhood). Also, I note that a portion of this alarm's description markets itself specifically for the deaf, for whom only the bed-shaker attachment would have value (the alarm does have a sound alarm with 3 intensity options). As a light sleeper, testing out the bed shaker attachment by putting it under a thick mattress (per the instructions), I was envisioning a Princess and the Pea type waking experience. While I was surprised by how strongly the bed-shaker vibrated on initial test (when holding it in my hand), as one could reasonably assume, a lot of that power dissipates through the mattress and is lost. By the time the vibration is perceptible, it's pretty faint. I would note the buzzing noise the shaker makes is more powerful than the vibration one can feel when it is under a mattress, though as a hearing person it is difficult for me to parse that out. Ultimately I would say use caution if you are deaf and a heavy sleeper intending to rely on this as your sole alarm. I did not test the shaker just under a pillow, as instructions indicate is another option, because I didn't think it would stay in place - people like me who have their hands under their pillow at night would probably push or knock it out of the way. however I do imagine that it would be much more effective just under a pillow (though it would have to be a thick or foam pillow so one simply doesn't end up with their head on a plastic disc all night) if you don't have that concern. The stars are for the fact that ultimately it is a useful little clock, the color changing options are fun, it has a battery back up option, comes with everything you need to plug into the wall via an adapter and USB-C cord, and the directions are clear, direct, easy to understand, and accurate. It is very easy to set up and use. There is one intensity level for the bed shaker but there are three volume levels for the audible alarm. For someone without a smartphone, and for a heavy sleeper without concerns of alarm volume waking other people, this is a perfectly serviceable, basic little alarm clock. For someone who can comfortably put this under their pillow, it's probably significantly more effective (the cord connecting the shaker to the alarm is nice and long). Star off because given the marketing/description, ultimately I don't think it would be very effective when just relying primarily on the bed-shaker, placed under the mattress of a very heavy sleeper. ... show more

While we won't be using this alarm click for anyone who is hard to wake up, we will be using it as a clock on my husband's man cave. My husband's man cave is secretly being remodeled. I have just about everything together and just need a day for him to leave so I can get to work. I went ahead and changed out the clock with the true excuse this clock needed reviewing. I love how the snooze bar changes colors which is goung to work well with all the neon LED lighting I'm adding to his room. That was a huge selling point for me to review this clock. It is nit easy to change colors on this clock, for some odd reason. You are supposed to be able to tap the right side corner to do it. There are multiple colors to choose from and then the gradient change from color to color. For what I suspect is a defect, I'm knocking off a star as I feel this should have been checked in quality control. When our daughter comes to visit, I'll have her test the vibrational function to wake up or one of my grandchildren. All four of them need an accessory like this as I have found nothing to wake them. I will update my review with those results, as we always have early mornings where we want to hit the beach for swimming or beachcombing. The alarm is annoying enough that the average person would get their bum out of bed to at least hit snooze once. As for me ersonally, I never have had a need for an alarm. If I say I need to get up at a certain time for some odd reason I'm always up at that time. As stated, I stated this for the reasons of that bar. I suspect this will be problematic or some. Minus one star for lack of quality control. Other than that issue I see nothing else to complain about. ... show more

I was personally very pleased with this alarm clock for what it is and the price. The display and the night light are both very bright, but can also be dimmed independently of one another. And even when dimmed most of the way (not completely), it is still very easily read in the light. In the picture of 4 clocks, the upper-left one is both display and night light dimmed (not completely) with a lamp on directly above it. The upper-right one is the same settings with the lamp turned off. Bottom-left is the display at full brightness while the night light is still fairly dim. And the bottom-right is both display and night light at full brightness. The night light does have a few options for colors or plain white. This alarm clock features dual alarms. For me, this is very handy because my sleep is split up where I have to get up in the evening and in the morning, but would also work well for weekends vs weekdays or even for two different people. There is a USB-A port and a USB-C port to be able to plug in charging cables to charged your electronic devices while you sleep. This alarm clock also comes with a bed shaker. I haven't ever had one, nor needed one, but I tried it out anyway. I was very pleased with how well it seemed to work placing it under my mattress. However, as I said, I haven't had one before so I don't know what I should really expect and I'm a light enough sleeper that I don't like a loud alarm clock - I keep the volumes turned down on my alarms.
