This is a heavy table and appears to be very sturdy. I own a bunch of cats that like to jump on it so the bottom heavy base keeps the table from being knocked over. It doesn't move or sway if a cat jumps on top. Not that I allow them on tables/counters but they are cats so it happens. They only thing I do not like about this table is the top. There are deep grain lines on it similar to the surface of a Ruffles potato chip. I love the detailed design of the base. I bought this used so there was some chipped paint at the top of the hydrant. Amazon gave a generous discount when I called about it. I found some fingernail polish in the same blue color and covered the exposed steel. It blended in well. Bought it for a night stand for my high bed. Works well looks good. Moves a little being on carpet but seem sturdy enough. It’s a good height for my bed lowered as far as it goes. I like the finish and looks.
