  • Consider this first
Key points 1 and 2: The adapter wires have a [loose fit], to the banana spring on the plug stem, they should have been soldered. So if you attempt to rely on them for accurate ohms readings you will only get aggravated. Solder them or toss them. The backprobe housings are too large an OD, they will not [fit into] your standard Fluke cables; however, if you trim back 1/4 inch or so of that housing, they are then usable. Hope this helps. ... show more

  • Good for the money
3 month daily usage review. I use these on a daily basis for automotive electrical diagnostics. The kit arrived with all of the pieces and in good condition. These probes work great for back probing connectors, pierce testing and are small enough to not spread terminals when probing female connectors. I use mine by simply attaching the alligator clips to the test probes on my meter. The bad: so far after 3 months of daily use 2 out of 5 leads have broken. It's a real pain when you are chasing a continuity issue only to find 4 hours in to the repair that one of the test leads has died. Tip: before you check power check a known good source. Before you check continuity check the leads against each other. Every time, and from time to time on longer diagnostic hunts. Good luck. ... show more

  • Very Sharp Back Probe Kit
This back probe kit was very handy when measuring voltage and resistance in automotive wires. Be careful when handling because the points are VERY sharp and can easily puncture skin. Each probe comes with a clear rubber cap to protect the tip and the person handling it. However, the cap could be easily lost. This kit helped me troubleshoot a problem between an automotive fuse box and engine control unit (ECU). The needle is thin enough to fit between a connector's backshell and pin yet still make electrical contact. The durability of the probes are good but I noted 1 needle fell out from its socket. It can be reinstalled but there is nothing to lock the needle into place. As long as the needle is supported during removal and installation then it shouldn't be a problem. This is a delicate item so will not take much to break it. NOTE: These probes are not meant to pierce the protective sheath of the wire. It is intended to make contact with a metal pin or socket inside a connector without causing damage to that connector. ... show more

  • Caused inaccurate readings.
Well, the pins showed 6 ohms when put on my test leads. Kinda makes getting an accurate reading difficult. Pieces fit together poorly. Bad connections and faulty readings caused me waisted time today. Cheap, but actually overpriced for the quality. On here looking for fluke back probes now.

  • Quality probes
Awesome little kit for backprobing. I especially like the fact that there are also 45 and 90 degree for the hard to reach areas. The banana/alligator leads are icing on the cake. I used to only use sewing T pins which worked fine but have to be careful when probing close to each other because of the potential to short them when testing. This backprobe kit doesn’t fully eliminate shorting accidents but greatly reduces them with the plastic end of the probes. Another great feature I personally like is the probes are different colors so at a glance you can differentiate different circuits and also keep scope leads color coordinated with the channel leads. Lastly the case for the probes is compact and lightweight so it’s not cumbersome to store or bring with you ... show more

  • intermittent contact
The wire ends that plug into the backprobes are poorly designed. Its a 2 piece connector that will not keep contact. I ended up cutting their connector end off and crimped on a male bullet connector. No more contact issues. Its a solid kit once you fix their flaw.

  • Nice probes but can be a pain to use.
These are nice probes for when you want to probe an pcm connector or any connector with small pins without the risk of spreading the pins open too far. I use these a lot and they're nice but the alligator clamps can be a pain with the leads sometimes. Wish there was an adaptor to the threaded fluke leads. Overall- They work great for testing, just make sure to get good contact on those alligator clamps. ... show more

  • Not worth it
The alligator clips are great. Good tight fit into my fluke multimeter. No issues with that part of the kit. My issue is with the actual back probes. They do not fit tightly into the test leads on my multimeter. They just sit on there loosely which I was not expecting. Very cheaply made. I would buy this if you possibly have thicker in diameter test leads so the back probes would fit snuggly. ... show more
