  • A good tool,
It works great, even on small wire.

  • If you don't have a pair of strippers like this, they are worth the investment.
Have you ever had to reach into a tight space (under a dash? In an electrical box?) to strip a wire? Have you ever had to strip multiple wires to an exact length quickly? This forward facing wire stripper does both of those tasks. I do like this unit. The built it wire cutters are handy. Its far less expensive than the snappy name brand. My only complaint is that it isn't as smooth as the name brand. That said its about 1/4 of the price and I don't use often enough to justify spending 4 times the amount. I use these for electrical wiring in the home frequently as it produces clean cuts and I can set the exact depth so that I have the right amount of exposed wire. It does have a limitation on length of the exposed wire, however, that is easily overcome by slipping the wire to the side of the plastic stop. I am meticulous with my electrical work and want to ensure its done to a high standard which to me means enough exposed wire to conduct properly but not too much that there is wire sticking out which can cause arcing. This unit is very natural to grip and easy to squeeze which helps make it precise with clean cuts to the insulation. ... show more

  • Excellent Stripper! (wire stripper, you pervs!)
So I go to the Western Extralite store to replace my old Ideal pistol stripper which looks exactly like this one. How much? $67.95 says the nice man. I say, HA HA MR. Egg; you make funny yolk ! He was not amused, and inquired how I wished to pay. Again further not amused when I offered Swedish Krona. Off to my trusty Amazon to order this one. As others have mentioned, it looks and feels exactly like the big name wire tools at a fraction of the price. In the restoration of historic buildings, we have to strip the ends of a LOT of wire. We can tell in short order the quality of any tool. This one has made the grade. You will find it really good for common 14-2 wire, pretty good for 12-2, and it struggles with 10-2,3 etc. One hint, on good quality wire with the additional thin plastic coating over the regular rubber wire insulation you may have to pinch the nose of the tool to grab properly. This trick is certainly needed on 10 gauge wire. All in all a good tool that you can buy without the risk of egg on your face. ... show more

  • Great auto strippers
Was reluctant to buy these cause I’m a snap on, Mac or Matco guy and not a big fan of cheaper tools. Been using these everyday now for about a month and I love these strippers. I have a pair of snap on strippers and they are now retired because of these. As far as longevity I will update at a later time. But very pleased with these currently. ... show more

  • Works well while it's sharp
These are my favorite Wire Stripper because They are Automatic, (all you have to do is pull the trigger), and because you do not have to select a wire size hole like on manual type strippers. Really easy to use. I have 7 different types of wire strippers and i like these the best. I work at a Car electronics shop and I use these every single day. I estimate about a hundred wires stripped every single day. The only down side is the stripping teeth tend to wear out faster that the conventional manual strippers. So for me these will last three months before the teeth wear out and then you can only use for larger (16-10 gauge wire) for maybe another 3 mos. until they are useless. Even though they eventually wear out, the time these save in stripping wire makes them worth it for me to keep buying them. ... show more

  • Works as they should.
Works just as good as the high dollar ones on the tool trucks.

  • Beware - damages the wire you are stripping
I tested this stripper like I usually do, by stripping a conductor of 14-2 NM cable. I found not only does this stripper scrape and remove the coating of the wire well past the strip point, by stripping an additional section I found each time the jaws leave a cut groove on the copper conductor where the full depth strip occurs. This would be considered unacceptable in many applications. This might be great for car stereo but I would not recommend it for AC electrical work. ... show more

  • NOMO Snap-On
Product was almost exactly the same as what is sold on a Snap-On truck. The only exception was the label printed in the red section and naturally…..the price ( which is a third of Snap-On. A lot more bang for the buck.
