My son is an apprentice electrician and regularly is put on cleanup duty at work. He brings home 1-2 buckets of scrap wire a week and uses this to strip it. This stripper seems to be holding up well and continues to do a great job. It takes a little practice to figure out how to fine tune it but once you got it down it’s a breeze. I’ve stripped about 2000lbs of copper/aluminum wire with this so far... it does a good job for all sizes of wire in residential applications of wiring. I’ve stripped 14 AWG solid copper up to 4/0 Aluminum with no issues. The blades are just now getting dull and I've already ordered my first pair of replacement blades. This machine is extremely easy to use. The only issue I’ve had is with smaller sizes of wire that aren’t straight sometimes curve to the right and they go through vents in the motors casing and get caught in the motors fan. It’s easy to just turn it off and pull the wire out but is a poor design for that. It also vibrates an extreme amount which is why I lagged it down like shown in the picture. I purchased this as a starter and plan to use it til I get enough scrap money to purchase a bigger more heavy duty and one with a warranty. But this cheap little wire stripper will strip enough wire to be able to buy 10 of these without any issues ... show more

The machine is very high quality, the more grease you add the smoother it runs, I was able to Strip Romex, from 14/2 down to 10/2 and the smallest wire being thermostat 18/5 definitely recommend, this little guy basically paid itself

A must buy especially if your stripping a lot of wire with thick sheathing. It's a time saver that's for sure. One thing they don't tell you is what that little plastic plug in the bag is for, they should because it's kinda important. It's for the gear oil port, which you should be able to locate on top of the gear box. Just remover the plate that's covering it unscrew the screw and add some oil, 85w-140 Lucas gear oil is what I used, then screw in the new screw, replace the cover plate. They don't ship it with oil in it and they don't tell you to put any in it and yes it works without it but I don't know how long and I don't want find out. I also recommend using it outside or in a garage because it does cut little pieces of wire that can get stuck in carpet an on your clothes, painful to step on so be mindful of that. I would definitely recommend this product even if your not going to use it that often because stripping wire isn't fun unless you have one of these, PLUS it's super super quiet and compact. The media could not be loaded. I was skeptical at first . Once you get blade adjusted and keep wire straight as possible . The more you do the better you get. Nice and quiet. Quick easy setup. After stripping only about 50ft of wire I have oil everywhere. I followed all directions. Still leaking oil not sure what’s going on. Going to contact customer support or return.
