Description

KNIPEX Tools new patent pending Forged Wire Stripper is a true game changer. It strips solid and stranded wire 10-20 AWG. Wire locating ridges make it easy to find stripping holes. It cuts 6-32 and 8-32 screws without threading from either the front or back of the tool. Cutting blades are designed to cut individual wires, NM-B, BX/MC, and battery cable. Lock can be used either right or left handed. Knurled tip and wide flat jaws for better grip. Also includes wire looping groove and gripping area for pipes.

I am an aircraft mechanic and third world house electrician. These are by far the nicest strippers and cable cutters I have ever used. The unique ridged design of the strippers makes it very easy to hit the right size without having to read the gauge size every time. The cutter section is very sharp and strong. I wouldn’t try to cut a nail or piano wire, but for electrical wires and cables it works very well. Highly recommend for anyone who is doing more than occasional electrical work. No matter what trade you're in, if you're going to be working with wire, this tool will come in handy. You'd be able to strip wire (I've stripped 10 guage down to 18 guage) without a problem. You can make joints with the same tool just as easily so you won't have to grab your linemans or whatever else.. These have a nice grip, and don't weigh much, the ergonomics fit great in my hands.. After having them for about 2 weeks, they got rained on and developed an expected amount of oxidation, but didn't negatively effect the performance. I've dropped them, cut MC (12/2), and even used the screw cutting feature and they're holding up after a few months of every day use. The only gripe I have is that sometimes the cutters need to be hyperextended to be able to fit around certain things like the MC I mentioned, but that's not typical for it's use and I'm still glad I have them. A bit pricier than others, but well worth it due to its design, speed, and wire stripping ease. Don't pass this up.. I promise you'll love them.. ... show more

They are the closest you will get to an all in one plier only problem i every had with them was working in a 2 week off and on rain storm and now they make a high pitch squeak when using them I'm sure wd40 would fix this but I use it to annoy my coworker. Worth every penny

These cut better than any other strippers I've used and the handle I like better than traditional comfort grip strippers. The only fault I'd give of these is that they cost a lot but aren't excellent in every aspect. What isn't excellent you ask? The pliers. Their grip strength is only so so. Personally, from what I've seen, the Klein combo strippers look to be a better option as far as better strippers that have pliers on the end. (A coworker has those). I love knipex but I don't feel like these are worth quite the price they are asking for these when the Kleins are probably better. The cutters are aabout the same (both great) but the one edge I'd give the knipex set is the small handles. That's another reason I bought these and I am very glad in that department. I don't know about the rest of you but I want something that's easy to handle when I'm cutting and stripping wire because I usually can't move the other hand and have to be pretty dexterous with my cutters, and these allow me to do that. In closing, I'd say grease these up a little bit to get the spring function running smooth (that's another small issue is they are a but stiff still after 2 months), and maybe take a key file or something to make those plier teeth a little deeper for stronger grip. ... show more

After using wire stripper pliers from several major manufacturers, I feel like this is the most refined set of pliers of the bunch. The lock mechanism is intuitive and effective and can be used in either hand and in either orientation. The alignment of the pliers is perfect, with the shears gliding tightly next to one another upon closure. The finish on the wire stripping portion and the plier head is excellent. The spring is the appropriate strength. The comfort grips are just that – comfortable.
