Don't even bother. This fan would no longer work after only 2 uses. When it did work, it really didn't move much air at all. ... like a minuscule amount... like not even worth it. It was working last night for a short period of time and just stopped even though the heat was the same.

Ok, so its simple, quiet, but that’s it. I’ve used it on top of a Mr. Buddy heater in a tent to move the heat around, but it just doesn’t work. It spins, but I can’t feel any air movement when I place my hand in front of the fan. Perhaps it does move some air, but its not worth it the price for what little effect it has on heat distribution. This is as simple as it gets. No batteries, no cord, it just converts the heat from the top of the stove into enough current to keep the fan spinning and the air moving. I've been using similar fans for several years now and this one is the most efficient yet. The manufacturers have been making improvements to the point where this fan runs noticeably faster than the older models. There's no maintenance necessary except to dust it off from time to time and overheating protection is built into the unit. As small as these fans are, they really do keep the air moving and contribute to the comfort in the room. If you have a wood or coal stove, you shouldn't be without one of these. ... show more
