TL;DR: Bought on sale cyber monday, should've bought a spare battery then. Go ahead and get a spare battery for the deeper cleaning days! I can normally cover ~2800sq/ft (hard to guess tbh, not sure how big the downstairs is, but it does account for most of the house, and is mostly tile/hardwood) in 25ish minutes and be fine, but if I've been lazy and the cats have been shedding, one battery won't quite make it (but it'll be close). I really like this vacuum! Other things of note: If you run it wide open (max suction) the battery will last maybe 10 minutes. You do not need to do this however unless the situation calls for it. let it decide. You need to clean the dust filter often (This goes for many vacuums, not just this one), I normally do it after every full-downstairs vacuum because it comes with a spare, and it'll normally be dry by the time I want to use it again. Takes about 1 minute total to clean, so there's no reason not to do this. That's it. It's a great vacuum for what I wanted it for, light to medium duty frequent use so I don't have to bust out the plug-in dyson and drag that thing all over the place. For carpet heavy environments, you want something plug-in period, this is not a great main unit for a carpet heavy environment. For all hard floors it would be great. We have 3 cats and two small children, so there's always something that needs vacuuming and I wanted a reasonably powerful cordless vac to hit the proverbial high spots, and this more than meets those relatively low requirements. As stated above, I can usually cover the whole downstairs on a single charge, occasionally if there's excessive crud (because someone hasn't been running it regularly) I have to grab the second battery, or if we're doing a more deep cleaning around the furniture and pulling stuff out from the wall, it comes in handy (think multiple canister dumpings and what not). It's very easy to break down and clean.. I probably should've read the instructions but nah. I have not clogged the dust filter to a point where the vacuum constantly runs in high vacuum mode (this is a complaint I read about from other users), and I keep it clean to avoid that situation. This is something one should do with their corded vacuums as well, as it greatly cuts down on the available power if neglected (and causes a higher instance of dust circulation rather than capture). The included tools are mostly helpful for the situations that require them, not much else to say there. I don't see the point of the dust filter cleaner attachment since you'd just be clogging up the other filter, instead I wash them by hand in the sink by running water down the middle (backwards), and let em dry til the next use. easy peasy. ... show more

Very powerful! Love the light that highlights all the dust on my floor to ensure I don’t miss anything. I did grab an extra battery so I always have one on standby as well as a few extra interior dust filters. That way I can wash one and use one while the other is drying. Lastly, Tineco’s customer service was amazing! Approximately 14 months after we purchased, we had an issue with the floor attachment not working but the vacuum itself would still power on. They responded within 24 hours and had a new part in the mail the following day. They even reached out a week later to make sure that resolved the issue, which it did. I wouldn’t hesitate to purchase or recommend this product and company to my friends and family! ... show more

    • It is only a matter of time before this unit dies on you...

We paid $340 for this unit last year. We liked it so much we bought a second for our business. About one month after the warranty expired for the 1st unit, we noticed that the battery was no longer holding a charge. We have a 2400sf ranch so when the battery was new, we could vac the entire home with plenty of juice to spare. Well, I was now lucky if I could vac 1/2 of the house before the battery died. So I called customer service. They sent me a new battery. The new battery lasted all of 22 minutes before it died. The battery used to last me almost 40 minutes. But a few battery lasts for only 22 minutes??? I shared this with customer service but there was nothing else they were going to do for us and I have all of the emails to prove it. Ok, I get it, it's a cordless vac, the battery's are what they are. Time for me to move on. So you know, the battery charges while in the handheld unit and when inserted into a large charger that I installed on the wall. The battery stopped charging while in the unit and in the wall charger. So I took the battery out and placed it in the secondary charger on the wall unit. The battery now would charge but still only last for like 20 mins now. But what does that tell you? It tells me that the initial issue was with the hand-held unit. Maybe if that was changed out by customer service I would not be writing this review. Who knows. But it wasn't replaced. Only the battery was. So for a few months we charged the battery in the top section of the wall charger. And by doing this you are not able to insert the handheld unit into the wall charger. So we had to place the handheld somewhere else in the house while the battery charged. This was quite a mess but we did it. And then this week guess what? The top section of the wall unit stopped charging. Seriously, the entire unit is now junk. Well it always was junk, now its completely worthless. So now I'm out of vac. One that I paid $340 last year. So I started carting a home battery back and forth to work to charge in the work wall charger. Talk about a pain in the you know what, but I did it so we had a vac at home. And now get this. The battery for the work vac started to die a slow death. It worked on what I thought was a full charge but it only but it only lasted for all of 7 1/2 minutes before dying. So the home vac is dead as a door nail. The work vac is running a close second and its only a ammeter of time before that one is dead also. I could write so much but why bother. I just want the reader to know to move on from this vac and buy something else. I paid a total of almost $700 for two vacs. One is completely dead, the second is on its last leg. Not only did I purchase one lemon, I bought two. And so will you. Just give it time. Stay away from Tineco. You will thank me later. ... show more

I bought this after looking through the reviews - and after deciding that I couldn't justify buying an overpriced Dyson. It has worked well. We have cats and dogs, and uncarpeted floors, and could vacuum every day (we don't...) and still collect a ton of dust and hair. I recommend this product - it is light, easy to use, NOT too loud, and overall a good value. The beater wand died but they replaced it for free without too much fuss. I recommend a second battery unless you have a very small area to vacuum. I can clean about 1200 square feet on one battery, but my daughter takes two to do the same space. I've had Dysons in the past and this is a decent alternative that doesn't break the bank. ... show more
