The media could not be loaded. I have a dog that is 3% mutt and 97% termite...It chews all the time and seems to be singularly bred to destroy chew toys. Forget about rawhide, rubber, and thick rope dog toy products...this is merely a minor challenge to the sharp teeth and strong will my puppy has to destroy anything in its path. So, when I heard about a virtually "indestructible" dog chew toy, I had to give it a go.... After 3 days of dogbone torture at before the relentless chewing machine that is my dog, I am pleased to say that there may be some truth to the "indestructible" claim. At this point, the dog has chewed away most of the brown "beefy" color squares on the bone, but the white bone itself remains very scratched up but still intact. Like the plucky Ukrainians facing off against the powerful Russian army, this bone seems to endure, and might even prevail. For roughly $11 dollars, I would say this bone is a bargain. But I will check back in a couple of weeks and let you know how it is going. ... show more

My 70lb Fox Red American Lab is somewhat of an authority on aggressive chewing and being able to test toys claimed to be "indestructible". I've all but banned anything but quality nylon chew toys in my house, unless heavily supervised - no rope toys, no plush toys, no squeak toys, no rubber toys, no tennis balls. He will destroy them all in a matter of minutes (or less). I also have a 15lb Bishon that steals all of the lab's toys from him (yes, the Bishon is dominant over the Lab.....) With that preface out of the way, this toy gets the stamp of approval among some of the best nylon toys we've tried out (think nylabone or benebone). The scent of the bone smells like it would be appealing to a dog, not that I'm a dog... but both of the pups seem to be excited to go after it. Also, it's not overly funky in smell, in that you have to get pretty close to it before you even notice it. It is listed as a large, and their size description is accurate, but it's not unmanageable for even the Bishon. He has no problems grabbing it and running around with it like a maniac. Again, not that I have a problem with their size descriptions, they seem accurate, but even little dogs can use the large no problem - if you're in a similar boat as me with one big and one small dog in the house. They'll steal it back and forth, munching away all evening. The dad approved portion - after a solid week of chewing from both dogs, it's gained my trust as a toy I could leave with them unsupervised and still have peace of mind that they aren't going to get hurt. The bone has not splintered at all. Nothing has broken off or drastically deteriorated. As is the case with most nylon toys I've dealt with, you will get deformation in the well-chewed areas, that get these small burrs. I deem these acceptable as long as the burrs don't get larger than about the size of a grain of rice; if the dog gnaws them off (which happens), they are small enough to pass through their system with no problems. This passes that test in a satisfactory manner. Thumbs up from this dog dad! ... show more

My dog (30lb chi-pit mix) is pretty picky about hard chew toys, but he went right for this one. Its very durable, and the softer spots give him something to sink his teeth into. He's spoiled and has a ton of toys and chewies, but keeps coming back to this.
