    • Lobster didn’t hold up as well as crocodile. but dog still liked it
The lobster is my second toy from this manufacturer, but because it’s mostly made of a softer plushy material instead of the thicker, stronger, nappier material that’s on its head, my dog was able to chew into it and tear out the stuffing much faster than the alligator. To be fair, she destroys almost every plush toy she’s ever had, but I keep buying them because she enjoys them so much for the short amount of time they last. This one did last 3 months before she completely destroyed it, however, so I’m happy with that. It lasted as long as it did because she went for only one appendage at a time, and because they were each sewn on separately instead of being all one part of the body, we could easily cut them off so she could still play with the rest of the toy. She also went through a short phase where she always chose this toy to play keep away with, which she usually saves awhile before destroying. But eventually she hones in on every plush toy until she finally gets the stuffing and squeaker out. But I will keep buying them, and I will continue looking for toys from this manufacturer because they have lasted the longest. ... show more

I have an 85lb pitty and he absolutely loves his Gator. He is definitely a power chewer, but other then missing an eye and a leg the toy is holding up pretty well. Usually he goes straight for the sqeaker, but after a few weeks he has yet to be able to get it out. I will warn you there is a lot of stuffing that comes out of that thing. Honestly though my baby absolutely loves his gator best $10 toy ever! ... show more

Sadly, this poor little stuffy didn't last long. It was cute but the squeaker was promptly removed by one of my dogs and the stuffing went shortly thereafter. This is definitely not a toy you want around aggressive chewers. It's a really cute toy and I hoped for the best. Poor little fella.

    • Well made, and very tough material. Durable for heavy biters.
Our German Shepherd/Lab mix has a strong bite. She can literally bite pieces off the edge of those hollow beef-bones. So, her mission with any new toy is to disembowel it and get to the "squeaky". She can open up a regular toy, the ones that are made like a typical teddy-bear material, in about five seconds like it's nothing. If she's determined, then she can even shred the rugged ones. The only ones that "last" are the super tough ones made by Kong -- the kind with the cloth made out of super-tough material that's similar to Kevlar. She could probably get to the squeaker in those, but the genius part is the squeaker "dies" after some serious bites and she loses interest in trying to remove it. So, we have a bunch of durable toys that don't squeak, and a bunch of non-durable toys with a big hole and stuffing coming out and we have to find the little squeaker and throw it out. Either way, it makes for a bunch of toys that don't squeak. We accepted the fact that she just has toys that don't squeak. This one is in the category where the squeaker died first. It doesn't take many super-chomps to break whatever the little mechanism is inside the little plastic bulb of the typical squeaker. This one is the alligator, and it's made of a nice thick material that she still likes to bite into and shake around. It's not bad for the price. This is a good one to keep in her rotation. After a few days, she wants something different, so then it's pulling out one of the other ones that she's forgotten about near the bottom of the toy basket. This one will stay in rotation -- unlike the countless others that have a "squeaker-shaped" hole and stuffing hanging out. Overall, a good price for a very durable toy for the heavy-biters. Our puppy and grown large breed dogs love this spider squeaker plushie. They toss it around and nibble on it constantly. It definitely lasted longer than I thought it would and was pretty durable considering it’s a plushie. It’s a decent value for the price and a good size.
