  • Easy to use and works great
Size: 5.5-Cup
I bought this rice booker as my husband and i make a lot of rice but not consistently well. We decided to finally get a rice cooker and wow! So pleased with the quality and consistency of the texture we get. There are markings on the inside of the pot to help determine exactly how much liquid to add for the amount of rice you are making. I especially love that after the rice is cooked, it switches to a “keep warm” setting which keeps the rice hot while not cooking it further to a mush. Would definitely recommend this cooker for fast, well-cooked rice with minimal effort. ... show more

  • reliable and efficient rice cooker
Size: 5.5-Cup
I've been using the TIGER JBV-A10U 5.5-Cup (Uncooked) Micom Rice Cooker with Food Steamer Basket for almost 3 years now, and it has been an excellent addition to my kitchen. One of the standout features is the Syncro-cooking function with the "tacook" cooking plate. This innovative design allows me to cook rice and a main dish simultaneously without the flavors mixing, which is incredibly convenient for preparing balanced meals quickly. The rice cooker offers four versatile cooking menu settings: Synchro-Cooking, Plain Rice, Brown Rice, and Slow Cook/Steam. Each setting is straightforward to use and delivers perfect results every time. Whether I’m making fluffy white rice, nutritious brown rice, or using the slow cook option for soups and stews, this appliance handles it all with ease. Cleaning up is a breeze thanks to the easy-to-clean non-stick coating on the inner pan. This feature significantly reduces the time and effort needed for maintenance, allowing me to enjoy my meals without worrying about a lengthy cleanup process afterward. Overall, the TIGER JBV-A10U is a reliable and efficient rice cooker that simplifies meal preparation and consistently produces high-quality results. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a versatile and user-friendly rice cooker. ... show more

  • Keeps on going!
Size: 5.5-Cup
I've had the 5.5cup for about 7 and a half years now and it keeps going strong. I've made just rice in it and also meals from the booklet (and other recipes from the Tiger site that came with other cookers, adjusted for the size of the unit). I get a lot of use out of it, probably cooking with it at least 3 times a week of not more. The rice comes out great every time. I've used it for a few other functions like porridge and a "rice cooker cheese cake" or two, and it takes some figuring out the timing but works well. I'd highly recommend as a starter or small household rice cooker - either for just rice, steaming veggies, or cooking a whole meal while you wind down after work. Even for a single person you can adjust the meal ingredients or pack leftovers for future re-heating meals (or take to work if you want). I suspect I'll use it until it wears out, and purchase either the same model or get adventurous with the "fancier" Tiger models. They've got a long-term customer in me! ... show more

  • steamer and rice cooker work well, easy to use, good value.
Size: 5.5-Cup
Steamer works very well. The first day, we cooked white rice and steamed purple carrots. Carrots stayed purple and rice stayed white. Brown rice takes a long time, so plan ahead. We cooked a bit of brown rice and it took about 45 minutes. It cooked it very well, but you can't be in a rush. The pan and steamer both clean up very easily. We clean them both by hand. The lid doesn't come off, so cleaning that is a bit of a pain. Our old rice cooker (which died, hence this replacement), had a regular lid that was easy to clean. This one, I have to wipe off the lid and rinse it off, and it's awkward since I can't just run the lid under the sink, since it's part of the cooker. Anyway, that aside, I like this very much. It takes up more kitchen counter real estate than our old rice cooker, but I knew that when I ordered it. For our family of 4, the size of this rice cooker is great. It makes more than enough for us and could easily make enough rice for 8 to 10 people. I don't use the measuring cup, but my Lola's finger-measuring method, and the rice comes out very nicely cooked, not too dry and not too wet. One thing - relatively minor - when you press the button to open the lid, the lid snaps up quickly. So, it seems best to have your other hand available to slow down the lid as it swings up. I could see the snapping lid being a weak link and eventually breaking if it snaps up too many times. If you want a very good rice cooker that has a few more bells and whistles than the average rice cooker (steamer, slow cooker, etc.), and is reasonably priced, this one should be on your list. ... show more

  • Easy to use and reliable
Size: 5.5-Cup
We have had this for 5 years now. It’s a real workhorse. We use it several times a week for white and brown rice. We have not used the other cooking functions. I appreciate the no frills controls. Rice turns out perfectly every time. Easy to clean.
