  • This game is a great entry point into boardgaming, while still being fun for adults!
Style: Ghost Train
I purchased this a while back as a gift for my 5-year-old daughter, and we have played at LEAST one game every day for the past month. It's got a great balance that helps support learning for younger ones, but it can still be just as competitive for adults playing along as well. After a few rounds with help from the adults, my daughter now plays on her own and can be competitive. After I stopped 'letting' her win occasionally and she still beats me, it's cool to watch the growth of her logic, reasoning, and planning skills. Lastly, the theme is awesome for halloween fans. My wife and I are fans of the original TTR given its ease to pick-up-and-play when compared to some of our other games. We are excited for the journey of progression of the little one as she joins us to learn and play together. ... show more

  • Great fun!
Style: First Journey
This is an excellent choice for a family that enjoys "Ticket to Ride" that also has younger children. Younger players can easily learn from an experienced player, or even with some basic instruction during their first round. There are even great pictures & colors to help along those that are still learning to read. My 5 year old plays this with my 10 year old, and she caught on pretty quickly. I would also recommended this if you enjoy the original, but are looking for a shorter version of the game. ... show more

  • Extremely fun and strategic
Style: First Journey
This game was awesome! It feels so good to win for some reason too. It doesn’t take that long to play and makes you play using different strategies if something happens and you can’t get to the place you want to get to. This game is great and I highly recommend it!

  • Same great game but easier for kids
Style: First Journey
If you like the original game and would like to play it with young kids, go ahead ans buy this. 5 year old learned the game and beat us in first try. Cards and locations have pictures as well as names, so its easy for even a nonreader to play.

  • Five year old loves it
Style: First Journey
My kid is five and he has learned to play this game very well. He likes to play, especially because he gets to go first every time.

  • Great intro to strategy games
Style: First Journey
I would’ve given this game 5 stars BUT the instructions have no mention of the game setup ( how many Ticket and Train cards each player starts with). Even the manufacturer’s website doesn’t tell you. After a quick search on the internet, we settled on 2 Ticket and 4 Train cards per player to start. It took my 7yo a few games to kindof figure it out but he enjoyed the process and is looking forward to more games. My 4yo couldn’t really grasp the concept and lost interest quickly but that wasn’t really surprising for this type of game. All in all, this is an excellent intro to stately type games. Having played Catan Jr and Risk with my 7yo, this game definitely captivates his interest the most. ... show more

  • Family fun!
Style: First Journey
Got this to play with my 6 year old grandson and he loved it. He is also learning to read and was able to read his cards and the board. Fun and fast game to hold his attention. The board is really good quality.
