  • An old familiar friend…
Style: Speak & Spell
This was one of the best things I remember about a time in my childhood. I immediately smiled & jumped to order when I saw it. I think it sounds the same but even if slightly different, it doesn’t matter. We don’t reach to nostalgic toys because they were perfect . What I remember is that this was a comforting and familiar friend from long ago. Helped me escape my reality back then and now as a safe Autonomous adult, I’m glad to have it around. Still fun when I need a little bit of a nostalgic good time. Oh yes, and it’s reminder that I made it out of that wretched childhood far better than I would have imagined. Heaven be praised! ... show more

  • Speak and Spell - can't beat a classic
Style: Speak & Spell
I recently purchased the Speak and Spell, and it has been such a fun and educational experience! The toy is well-made, with clear, easy-to-understand speech and bright, engaging lights. It’s a great way to help kids learn spelling and vocabulary while having fun. My child loves the interactive games, and I’ve already noticed improvement in their spelling skills. It’s a classic toy that combines learning with play in the best way possible. I highly recommend it to any parent looking for an entertaining, educational gift! ... show more

  • Easy to use
Easy to use, great and easy way to help kids learn! Good value for the money, perfect size for kids to sit and hold!

  • Just okay
Style: Speak & Spell
I suppose this is exactly what it says it is. A retro speak and spell. There are no improvements, so you can’t have it practice specifics words, or bring it down to an easier level like CVC words, or anything like that. The dated controls can be pretty frustrating.

  • Fast delivery, good price and excellent learning tool for a one year old
Style: Speak & Spell
I love the vintage look about this unit. I would certainly buy again. I got this as a Christmas gift for my coworker's one year old son and he loves it, he carries it all over the house. I would highly recommend this for anyone with a young toddler to start their learning skills early.

  • It’s great
Style: Speak & Spell
It’s great but not for beginners. It sounds great, the buttons are easy to press, the touch screen is clear and easy to read. I would recommend for kids 7 and up but not under.

  • Finicky
Style: Speak & Spell
Just gave this to my almost six year old for Christmas and he wasn’t sure what to make of it. Once we turned it on, the screen is dim and hard to see. Once we started to play with it, the keys on the top row are very finicky. Pressing “replay” and “repeat” to hear instructions again, it thought I was pressing letter keys from the same column. At times a light touch on the keys seems sufficient, other times it’s like you have to ram onto it to get it to work. Unsure if we will keep it, return it, or try to exchange for another one. For such a classic toy, you think they’d know how to build one that functions better, but maybe we got a defective one. Not overly impressed and neither is my son, so I’m not sure it’s worth the money to begin with. ... show more

  • It's very basic
Style: Speak & Spell
So many disappointments with the new speak and spell. It has very limited words, you can't type a word and have it read it back, you can't see the screen hardly, and the only real positive is that it turned on. Not worth more than $5, it's very poorly made and with garbage parts. Do not recommend at all, your child won't like it. Spend the extra few bucks and get a tablet, at least you will be able to see the screen. ... show more
