I had ordered what appeared to be the same part from another seller but when it arrived it did not fit. I returned it and got this to fix my weed whip--and it worked, no issues, correct model for my machine. Easy to install and use. Much cheaper than replacing the whole unit! I recommend this one!

1.) Spools do not have the thumb and forefinger cutaway like the original, making them more difficult to load into the trimmer. 2.) The line that came on the spools does not feed out automatically each time the trimmer is stopped. You have to stop, open the trimmer head and manually feed out more line every couple of minutes of trimming. Very annoying. I think this is because of how tightly the line is wound onto the spools and possibly because of how long the line was on the spools before being purchased. It is permanently bent into a tight coil that wants to retract rather than feed out. 3.) If you want to reuse each spool with your own line, the holes the spool uses to secure the line to start the winding will not grip the end of the line. The original spool has a steep angle and a sharp edge that grips the grips the line so you can just pull it tight and start winding. If you try to do that with these spools, the line just pulls right out of the hole. I was able to put a sharp bend in the end of the line with pliers that enabled me to rewind the spools, but with all of this frustration, mine are going into the trash today. I will just order original manufacturer spools now. So much for saving a bit of money. ... show more

These blades wear down after 1 trimming. It would be great if there was a steel version of them that would last longer. Replacing them requires using an Allen wrench to unscrew the blade from the green cap. It's generally an odd configuration. The electric weeder that these are made for us stellar tho. ... show more

Purchased this same set with a replacement cover last year, and finished the six spools. Same manufacturer, minus the spool cover. It is difficult to thread into the receiving head, but it always is, not a reflection of the manufacturer of the product. I wish it would unspool with fewer bindings, but this has happened with Kobalt spools and self-wound ones. Again, a failure of the trimmer design. Good enough at a decent price. ... show more
