  • Amazing Blinds, used with Home Assistant
Size: 30"W x 72'H
These blinds are amazing. Never did I think I would be buying 5 of these for all of my windows, but I started with 2 and absolutely loved them. I will be buying the smaller 26 inch once they are available :) Out of the 5 blinds, 1 did come broken out of the box, but I was able to order a replacement right away and had it within a week. Pairing with Home Assistant was easy (shoutout to the HA folks), they came right up as “covers” and I was able to group them to control all blinds within the given rooms. Amazing experience and I was even able to add them to my Daily automations. With the addition of a magnet sensor (thirdreality makes these as well) you can even prevent them from going down when the windows are open (using HA for the automation). HA will also show the battery level of each blind. The batteries seem to last a while, although I haven’t replaced them yet. After only 4ish weeks of 1 up and down and 25% open in the mornings, the batteries are still at 90%. The fact that they are AA batteries is amazing. A rechargeable battery would be nice but I think the AAs keep it simple. The remote works just fine, although I notice when using the remote, the position doesn’t update in HA and you need to go all the way back up, then down again to reset it. I have primarily been using them in HA just to avoid this issue. But it’s good to know the remote is a decent backup in case HA is having issues. All in all I am very impressed with these blinds and they were well worth the money. As I mentioned, I will be buying the smaller versions in the future and will update this if I have any issues with them. ... show more

  • easy to use and blocks light
Size: 34"W x 72'H
I have a stair window that faces east, every night we leave it open to get the cool air in, and in early morning our 88 year old grandma would climb the stairs to close the curtain, otherwise the morning sun gets pretty hot quickly. Now with this electric blind, grandma can easily use the old fashioned remote control to close the curtain, no need to climb stairs. Although the product supports voice or app control, the old fashioned way is more friendly for elderly. Upon arrival, the top right corner of the blind is squeezed, by the battery pack I think (picture 1), it's not a big issue since you can't see much damage after installation (picture 3). However, their customer service is very good, they said will mail me a new package and I don't need to return the current one. For installation, I did the inside mount, and I think their provided screw and plastic anchor may not be the best combination. For inside mount, the top of window should be wood and drywall, the anchor is only for drywall, I don't think you can put the anchor in all the way (blocked by wood). I used drywall screw (e.g. longer screw) without anchor, and it's super easy to install. The user manual should also include a picture of the finished inside mount, e.g. you only need to install the two round metal holder, and then you click in the blind. The two 90 degree holders are not for inside mount. ... show more

  • Great for about 12 months
Size: 31"W x 72'H
I bought these for my entire house (15 windows)..they worked fantastic and look great..until I went to change the batteries for the second time. They have almost all completely quit working even with new batteries. I actually cried after the fifth one stopped...I'm so sad. Very disappointed because I love them so much. I'm not saying don't purchase them...I'm just saying please buy the extended warranty on them. When I purchased them they were close to $200 each so less than $100 is a bargain in my opinion.. just please buy the warranty. I deeply regret not getting it. ... show more

  • Blind looks good, but does not work out of the box
Size: 28"W x 72'H
The blind looks good and installation was very simple but the blind does not close. Once installed it just opened completely and I cannot get it to close. Returning to Amazon for a replacement and will see if this is just a fluke of the quality control.

  • Amazing Blinds, Batteries included, Help Never Comes
Size: 31"W x 72'H
The media could not be loaded. UPDATE 2 (June 25): I have not heard anything from the manufacturer about a replacement screw. They've gone completely silent. Additionally, now that I have replaced the batteries in my blinds, they will no longer stay connected to our Zigbee network (Home Assistant). I have used their Contact Us form again to request help. Not sure what else to do. UPDATE (June: 3 Months from Purchase): Well, I was right about the screw (see pictures). It was nearly impossible to remove. Unfortunately, I now cannot reassemble the battery box until I have a new screw. Will contact THIRDREALITY to see if they can help. I may have to use extreme measures to get a replacement different type of screw to work. Note: The batteries that came with the unit lasted three months. Perhaps replacements will last longer? I think we're becoming big fans of THIRDREALITY. We have several of their buttons and about twenty of the motion sensors. They all work really well with our smart home (Home Assistant). They not only work well but are cost effective and the batteries last much longer than other brands. So when I heard about these blinds I had to try one. I put it up in my home office window that faces the morning sun. Although the included hardware barely fit our window casings, installation took about 10 minutes. Once in place I installed the batteries and opened up Home Assistant on my phone. Home Assistant found the blind in just a few seconds and once I gave my new blind a name and a room I was literally up and running. This was fun!! I sat there in my office running the blind up and down and in various positions - just because it was cool. The video I've included of the blind going up shows it being controlled from Home Assistant. Ok, a couple of notes: The instructions are not as clear as I expected. It was pretty easy to figure out but the only real issue was that the text of the diagrams (6") was too small for me to read. Although the unit comes with a remote I haven't tried it yet. Our Home Assistant server is all we really need. In addition to the remote there are buttons on the blind for control as well. Very handy. There is no valance to hide the top hardware. Perhaps that will be a future add-on that becomes available. The screw to the battery compartment is a machine thread and was installed too tight at the factory. The phillips/standard (PH2) head stripped upon first removal. I was able to install the batteries without a problem but when I go to change the batteries I might need to replace the screw. The motor is a little loud. Keep in mind this is a battery powered little motor winching a blind up and down so noise is expected. This sounds labored. Perhaps the included batteries are not 100%. Will have to pay attention the next time I swap for fresh batteries. I do wish the motor was quieter, however. Wishlist: The only added feature I would want from a product like this is a door mounting kit: hardware that allows mounting on a door window that prevents the blinds from swinging when the door is moved but allows for free movement up and down. Traditional blinds have attachments at the bottom with string for the up/down part to glide on keeping the blind in place as it travels. Overall, we are already planning to add THIRDREALITY blinds to many windows in our home. With Home Assistant we're going to have a lot of fun with automations! ... show more
