  • A very pleasant surprise....
Color: Orange
Portable Air Compressor Reviewer Extraordinaire here. You may know me from my other portable inflator review, which has garnered an astounding nearly-600 hearts ;) I wanted to wait to review this until I had used it a few more times, but a bunch of "pro"s just popped into my head and I don't want to lose them, so here goes. I will update if my experience changes. At this price (I paid $39.99, and there was an 8%-off coupon, so $36.79 total), my expectation bar was pretty low. I have actually used several of these cordless, portable compressors, so I have a basis for comparison. As the title says, I have been very pleasantly surprised up to this point. Since I have used a few different brands, I am going to list some pros that I think stand out over others. For background, I use this at the track to refill my car's tires at the end of the day. Often my pressures are about 26 psi (give or take), and I want to get them back up to 35 psi. I fill all 4 tires at once, and actually I often go up to 40 psi because they are still hot, and I know they will lose poundage as they continue to cool. In the past, I have used 3 brands of plug-in compressor (which is a big annoyance because you have to leave the car running), and in the cordless realm, I have used (not sure if I can say brand names here) the orange one from the big home improvement store, the lime green one from that same store, and the greenish-blue Japanese one. This ThiEYE (man, I can't get enough of saying that name, lol) is actually closest to that last, most-expensive-by-a-lot, one. Without further ado... Pros, in comparison to other brands: 1) This is very lightweight, compared to others I have used, almost "too" lightweight, like where you give it the side-eye when you first take it out of the package. I do still wonder what makes it so light. But hey, if it works... (I have only used it about 4x thus far, so I cannot declare it works in the long term.) 2) I thought it was crazy, but also convenient, that the battery charges via USB/wall charger. It was sort of nuts to me, as "all other" power tools have so much more charging infrastructure. With this one, you don't have to keep track of another brick. 3) This one is considerably quieter than the big-name orange or lime-green ones. I'm not usually sensitive to noise, but man, that other orange one is loud, as is the lime green. I think correlating to that, this ThiEYE is less vibratey than some others. 4) It has auto-shutoff, unlike the greenish-blue expensive one. 5) The "body" with the trigger is not too big around, so I can hold it with my tiny hand! I couldn't hold the lime-green one, and I could barely hold the big-name orange. 6) It has a much better style of valve-stem connector that the other orange one. This one is easy to connect and latches on well. A few cons (in general, not in comparison to other brands): 1) Like all of these things, it does not read accurately. At the moment of this review, I can't remember how far off it is, in terms of both readout and the extra air it puts in beyond what you’ve set it to, but you learn to adapt and, for example, put in less or more air than the readout says, once you know the delta. (You will need to have an accurate pressure gauge with you to confirm.) 2) It is slower to fill than the others. This one takes longer than the big-name orange and $$$ greenish-blue (can't remember about the lime - may not have even filled a whole tire, I hated it so much), but it is not such a big deal when you can turn it on and leave it there doing its business, while you go about your other tasks. 3) I loaned it out to someone after I had used it on my 4 tires. He brought it back to me, and when I went to fill my tires on a different day, it had run out of juice, leading me to think the battery would not last very long. However, I only had that short battery life when that dude borrowed it, so maybe he was putting 20# in each of his big-ass Corvette tires, rather than the 9ish I put in each of my smaller tires. (I should note my car's tires are 245 section width on a 17" wheel and not monster truck tires.) This is the aspect where the jury is still out - I'm not sure how long the battery actually lasts, though I've filled 12 of my tires without it dying. In summary: Thus far, I have enjoyed using this inflator more than I expected. I still look at it skeptically at times, but it has not yet let me down, and the quietness and featherweightedness were a nice surprise. At this time, I would not hesitate to buy it all over again. ... show more

  • Good with some minor problems
Color: Orange
There seems to be some confusion about what you get with this. Let me clear that up. 1. The compressor with an air hose and Schrader chuck 2. A battery that can be charged via a USB-C port. Use this for walking around 3. A USB-A to USB-C cable 4. A battery lookalike with a hidden 12v DC auto cable. Use this when near a car 5. Schrader to presta adapter and a needle adapter 6. Instructions and a nice reusable storage box The pump is light and easy to use. Press the power switch to turn it on. Press it again to change the pressure units. Long press to turn it off. Use the + and - buttons to alter the shutoff pressure. The trigger toggles the device on and off, ie you don't have to hold it down. When it reaches the shutoff pressure it turns off automatically. This all works very well. The unit is noisy and get hots when in use - hot enough to burn you if you touch the nose when it's been running a while. The Schrader to presta adapter leaks air when you attach the chuck. There is nowhere to store the adapter so you're going to lose it. I'd really like to see pressure presets. I want to use this on my car and my bike but they have different tire pressures and presets would make this device more convenient. If you just want to use this for your car or just for your mountain bike this device will work well for you. If you want to use it for your road bike, or a number of different vehicles, you might want to keep looking. ... show more

  • Very Handy Tool
Color: Orange
Works great. I’ve used it for a car tire, eight wheelchair tires, a football, and two pool floats in the week I’ve had it so far. Charges quickly, and inflates very quickly in bike and wheelchair tires and balls. A little slower with a car tire, of course, but still fast enough to get it done. Be sure to make sure you have your gauge in the display set to psi or whatever you need. Be aware that there are four measurement settings, so just be aware and look at the display before inflating. Fits in a backpack and is very handy. I’d recommend this. ... show more

  • It’s a beast!
Color: Orange
I've been using an electric air pump for several years, and I like it for its portability and convenience. But it doesn't do the big jobs well, like car and trailer tires. And neither does my small compressor. And that's where this little pump excels. It offers all of the portability of my previous model but with the added convenience of being able to do those big jobs as well. It has a form factor and performance similar to a famous name brand. But without the famous price. Another convenience is the ability to charge the battery via USB-C and a slick 12v DC cord that stores inside a faux battery. About those big jobs... This pump is set and forget. Set the pressure, connect the hose to your tire, turn it on, and walk away. The form factor, combined with a hose just the right length, allows you to set this on the floor next to the tire you are filling while tending to your other business. My other pump required me to hold it the entire time. So this is a significant upgrade for me. Lastly, this will replace my small compressor for most jobs. It's better at filling tires, especially high-pressure trailer tires, than my other options. ... show more

I am a female and bought this product for small projects around the house. So far I have used it to repair a bicycle tire on my nephews bike and it proved to be efficient in getting the job done and extremely user friendly even for a novice like me.
