  • very handy and mobile unit to have!!
First off, I must say that I already owned some Ryobi 18V cordless tools so I have 2 batteries. This tool came without a battery (as noted). It seems that I own/maintain a lot of machines that have air filled tires. Besides truck and car, there's motorcycle, utv and atv, wagons, trailers, carts, etc. Whenever I noticed that a particular tire looked a little soft, I had to go to the big compressor to air it up. Sometimes, getting the tire to the air compressor was no big deal. Sometimes it was an issue. (Example: a garden wagon loaded with fire wood and the tire went very soft over a couple of days. It was parked away from the shop.) This cordless Ryobi unit is perfect for such situations. Threw in a battery and off to the wagon. Pumped it up and was back in business. Now I know that some folks would say, "I already have a cigarette lighter plug inflator". I do, as well, but then you for sure, have to have 12V power there to use it. This Ryobi inflator is a step above that for me. It's quick to grab and ease of use are very nice. NO cords or external power source is needed. It even tells you the pressure of the tire or whatever. Here is a reality check though......This unit does not take the place of a large 110V compressor for inflating tires and such. It takes a while to inflate a bigger tire but it WILL GET THERE. To me, it's the portability and quick way to put into service that I just love. Seems to be built well and has a great warranty. Even I'm surprised as to how many times I've used this thing in just the month and a half that I've had it. Super handy and effective. ... show more

  • So much better than other mini power inflator devices that I have tried!
You can walk around your car and accurately, quickly check and inflation adjustment on all 4 tires within like 5-6 minutes with this. No sweating hauling hoses or heavy compressors, no bearing with super loud air compressors, and able to keep using the tool on more and more tires without it crapping out; even with the 1.5 mA batteries. I purchased and returned many other portable air inflators before coming across this one just as I was getting into the Ryobi tool line. So I had a battery on hand. By the way, batteries can cost so do your research. Do what I did and grab another Ryobi tool, knowing that you'll be able to use the batteries in two (or more) devices thus making more financial sense forking out money on a battery. Like the Ryobi handheld Vacuum. That's the other Ryobi thing I have where also I've gone through several handheld portable vacuums and settled on Ryobi...so far. Anyway, not trying to sell Ryobi products, but just sharing my two cents. This Ryobi inflator can do all my 5 cars no problem with a small battery. Makes me feel good knowing that my kids are driving on safe tires and it doesn't take much time thanks to this awesome product! ... show more

  • A Great Addition to the Shop, Improved over the Last Version
I bought this inflator as a replacement for one I had for several years - so long I don't remember when I bought it. The first upgrade over my old one is the pressure gauge going digital instead of a swinging needle. The gauge is only useful when the power is on, it's electric after all, but both the old and new inflators are only showing pressure when attached to the tire or whatever you're inflating. It's not a big delay to attach the inflator and then tap the on/off switch. I've only used this one to pump up four tires, all 125 psi bike tires, which means small volume, high pressure. I used my old one on the bike tires hundreds of times, as well as car tires (high volume, low pressure, like 32 psi), boat trailer tires (high volume, medium pressure, like 55 psi), tires on dollies and other tools (low volume, low pressure) and anything else around the house. I never pumped up a football, basketball or other toys. It feels like an upgrade over the old inflator. Works faster and gets to pressure easily. My old pump used to take as long to get from 110 to 125 as it took to get from turn on (say 70 psi) to 110. Maybe the old one was failing slowly. I used to use a manual pump for 125 to 150 psi bike tires. No more. The old bike pump is in a corner, hoping I never need it again. The only knock I have against it is the same as on the previous one. There's no trigger guard or anything to keep your finger off the on/off switch. The big switch is in a place that I accidentally hit all the time. ... show more

  • Super convenient
Already had an inflator but it was one that needed to be plugged into the car 12v socket. On my wife's BMW this also meant that the car had to be running in order for it to work. Bought this because that became a bit of a pain to find her keys, open the garage door, wedge myself into the driver seat and plug in the old unit. The valve stem lock mechanism on this works great, and as I already had the batteries for it, am super happy with the purchase. Doesn't have a way to program it for a specific PSI value, but other than that, its great. ... show more

  • Love this product
You need to have a couple batteries on hand if you need to completely fill large tires but this thing is great for just keeping the tires inflated at proper pressure. Small tires like motorcycle and bicycles are a snap to fill.
