  • A very nice - but not perfect - RV compatiable auto cut-off air presure system for tires
Style: 20V Max Cordless Inflator
For the money, it's a good buy. I'm pleased with my purchase. It can power via 20 volt battery, Cig Adapter or Plug in to 120 volt ac. I used the 20V battery on an RV tire with 90lbs pressure and it filled them just fine. The downside was I could only get 2 or so tires filled before I got a battery depleated warning. So for RV use where high pressure gives this a real workout, you'll need two fully charged batteries to do 4 or 6 tires. The downside, it does remember the tire pressure you selected, but when you change the battery it resets back to 2 lbs. To put back at 90, I have to push the + button 88 times. It forgets on downpower! That might be a plus if you consider the safety of forcing you to instruct it each time to fill to level "XXXX" manually on start up. I think it fills pretty fast. All my tires were at 80lbs and it puts about a lb a minute into the tire in these high pressure fills. It might fill a lot faster in the car tire pressure range. Overall, it's a great purchase although not perfect. ... show more

  • Compact and versatile Portable Compressor
Style: 20V Max Cordless Inflator
I did quite a bit of research before making this purchase. Since I already owned a battery operated Hedge Trimmer from B&D this was one I was considering among others. Based on other reviews, I decided to purchase this one because it can work from the B&D 20vdc battery pack I already owned, 12vdc lighter or 120 VAC. This gave me a lot of options to use this at home as well as on the road. This is a "no frills" inflator. No led light, no USB charging for phones, etc. It does however outshine others I had considered because it can also quickly inflate air mattresses or other inflatable items with the high volume setting and hose. Others have commented on its complicated nature. I read the directions once and was done. Worked perfect on all three power sources. I have tested it a few times to inflate some tires and an air mattress and it did a great job. The pressure gauge is accurate and it does as others have said, inflates to a little higher than the set pressure, but then settles down to the stated pressure or within 1/2 lb. Overall I am very happy with its operation. If I hadn't already owned the battery pack and charger, I probably would have gone with something else. I had considered the VIAIR 88P, a few models of AstroAI as well as GSPSCN and the EPAuto 12V DC Portable Air Compressor. Some things to consider as you shop around: Some compressors have a high amp draws and require a direct battery connection, (not very flexible for home use). Others have a cigarette lighter plug, but you still need to have the engine running. Some have their amp draw pushing the limits of many car cig plugs at 150-180 watts / @ 12.5 -15 amps. B&D does not publish the 12vdc amp draw, but I may test mine under load at 30psi and see where it comes in and publish it later. ... show more

  • Easy to use, compact, 3 power sources
Style: 20V Max Cordless Inflator
Drove 5 miles from home to add air to a low tire, at a cost of $2. I had a portable tire inflator years ago, which had one power source ( cigarette lighter in car). I was not about to try putting air in the tire using a bicycle pump: time to get a new inflator. I already have a number of B&D tools using 20 or 40 volt batteries, so this looked like a good choice. Price was ok. Tried it out, works fine. Difficult to wind up the cord with the car adapter power plug, so I’ll just leave it wrapped with a twist tie. I thought one of the accessory ends ( there should be 3) , was missing, but later found it in the packing box, so if you can’t find one check out the box before you use the inflator. Power plug too short, you’ll need an extension cord. edited August 2024: so had a low tire which I took to a gas station. They found a leak & fixed it with a plug. Tire ok. Checked all tires & used the inflator using fully charged battery. Today another tire was low, too out inflator but battery was low, so I used AC cord. Air comes out of the large ‘nozzle’ but could not use the tire attachment, nothing was lit up. Ended up using my bike hand pump. Disgusted now with inflator. Battery which I charged worked on leaf blower. Going to try the inflator again after I calm down later! Why can’t things work they way they are intended to?.. ... show more

  • versatility value
Style: 20V Max Cordless Inflator
Was time to buy new inflator and so glad stumbled onto this one! First stumbled onto the DeWalt one which I like and already have bunch of their tools/batts. But theirs is almost twice as much ($110) with no battery and from what I read also doesn't include the A/C plug which costs another $30-40! This B&D doesn't come with battery either but has everything else and since I also have B&D tools/batts figured give it a go. First I love having 3 power sources, esp the batt as that makes it portable, was so convenient to move from tire to tire. I did 4 tires on 3 cars in no time and didn't even use up a batt. Second I love having the auto-shutoff. My prior unit was basic and had gauge with needle that bounced all over the place! Constantly had to remove nozzle, test with separate gauge, then repeat. This digital display is easy to read and accurate. It stopped when supposed to and when checked with my separate gauge each time was dead on! Price-wise was more than initially wanted to spend but think it's worth it for that alone tho will probably also find the portability and large volume nozzle handy for things like inflating/deflating rafts. But note I already had the batteries to use, if you don't that changes the equation some. (not to be a B&D pitchman but their batts aren't that much or you could even get a basic drill with batt & charger for like $50) My only real complaint I guess is the cord retainer for the 12V cable which is on the bottom. It's rather tedious and not exactly intuitive to wrap the cord up in it and mine came out of the box with the cord simply bundled with a twisty-tie. That makes me suspicious to whether I got a used/refurb unit. But otherwise looks and works fine and prob won't use the 12V cord anyway as the battery is more convenient. ... show more
