I can’t say if it was easy to install, as we had a plumber do the work because the previous owners took out the old one and were burning wood instead and we weren’t sure if they did anything weird to the gas line. Though the plumber did say it’s the first time he’s ever had a gas log kit not come with a flex hose. He had to go out and buy one, once he had that it went pretty quick. Make sure you buy a gas flex hose too. I didn’t use the rock wool embers it came with, I used platinum embers from another company, however with embers, less is more and they need to be fluffed and separated really well for the air to get through to create the flickering glow. It takes a little patience to get them just right with it on, I suggest an oven mitt and needle nose pliers to move them around. The kit itself isn’t 100% as the picture but it’s close.... The logs are slightly different, you can tell by the piece in the front, ours is much shorter than what’s pictured. I do wish you could spread the embers to the top of the bottom log a bit to be more realistic but that’s OK. Overall it’s fantastic and warm and a perfect addition to our living room. ... show more

We had to get a heating cooling professional to install. Also there wasn't much of the rock wool to simulate embers.

I bought this fireplace set as a gift for my brothers new home. He wasnt familiar with fireplaces since he had never had one before. When he contacted AMS they were very helpful and went above & beyond to assist him and got his fireplace burning beautifully.
