  • Engaging and educational
We bought this for our 7 year old son as a homeschooling game. He absolutely enjoys playing it. We are all learning too much about the countries in the world. It’s really interesting and engaging for adults and children. After a handful of times playing, my 7 year old is remembering which continents countries are in and is memorizing locations of countries as well. Very cool way to learn geography. ... show more

  • A fun game for the whole family.
Got this to play with my 9 year old grandson. I've only had it two weeks but we have played multiple times. He loves board games and this one will be a favorite for a while. Each person draws a country card with certain facts about that country. The person whose turn it is determines which fact they are playing off on that hand then everyone puts cards on the table and the one with the highest number on that fact wins that round. Some of the facts are the capitol city, identify the flag, country's population, area, highest point, and others. Each round everyone gets a new country card. Keep going until one person makes his way around the board and that is done by winning individual rounds. There are other components in addition to the country cards to give some variety and keep things hopping a bit. I wish this game had been around when I was homeschooling my children. I recommend it for anyone who likes board games or who likes learning facts; because, although this game isn't "instructional" you are sure to learn a lot as you go through country after country. ... show more

  • Homeschool
This is a great game. I homeschool my kids and this is a fun, interesting and effective way to teach geography. On each turn we point out on the map each country that we all have in our hand and share out-loud the capitol city of that particular country. We couple this game with a missions book about other countries and that gives us a more interesting take on the different countries. So for instance in one persons hand you will have the country Germany. We will point out it's location, say the capitol city and then whip out our missions book (which also has the flags and information about the country) and read the story/information on that country. I think stopping and praying for the country would also really be neat. ... show more

  • Great family game
My oldest received this as a gift a couple years ago and it’s a family favorite! My youngest really likes looking for the countries on the board. The play time is pretty good; it’s a long enough game that we don’t usually play a 2nd time in one night.

  • Love this
It's a really nice way to teach geography skills. We enjoy playing together. It's well constructed too, so it'll last for many years. My only complaint is that I wish they provided a pronunciation for the countries, so kids (and adults) can learn to pronounce things properly.

  • Amazing game!!
This game is absolutely amazing for learning more about countries. It's even better when adults can share something else based on the game process. For example - hands on examples of how GDP is formed, or what countries have got the most population, or the highest mountains, or which country belongs to what continent! We love it and it helps a lot for homeschooling too!! ... show more

  • Excellent, high quality, must-have family game
I bought it for my 10-year-old's birthday. He doesn't like many games, and loses interest easily, but he and my 14-year-old frequently request to play The World Game. I love playing, I love learning, sometimes embarrassing myself, sometimes showing off, but mostly seeing my kids shine. Based on the price and pictures, I was worried about how the quality wold be. (It was half the price of other board games I've purchased with the same quality materials.) It's well thought out, very well made with a high-quality board, cards, and wooden meeples. There is enough strategy that the most knowledgeable player doesn't always win, but it definitely incentivizes learning and makes geography fun. We play a couple times each weekend. I would love an expansion set with landforms and bodies of water or other major cities. My boys would prefer if the map was a bit more precise, without the softened boarders. The only thing I dislike about this game is that it will get outdated. I wish I could buy a subscription to get updates each year. This isn't an ideal game for someone who hates geography, but it's a must have for every family who enjoys learning and geography even a little. ... show more

  • Good for learning countries
Able to play a simplified version with my 8 yo grandson. From what I remember, to gain the “wild” cards required you to remember what continent you were on, which is difficult to keep track of. Otherwise, going around the board and comparing opponents cards on 5 categories to see who won was fairly easy. My grandson won the first time we played. I did have to read all the cards. Hopefully he and his older brother will play together, or it will be brought to school for an educational game. ... show more
