  • Kind of weak pressing
I don’t know if it’s the mix or what…but this didn’t pulse the way I remembered it in the 80s

  • A Favorite Album
This is the third Maiden album. It is also the first to feature vocalist Bruce Dickinson and the last with drummer Clive Burr. I became a fan of the band with their first two albums. This one here is a masterpiece. I saw them on this tour (as well as on a couple of other tours in the 1980s) and became an even bigger fan. Dickinson's vocals are incredible. The twin lead guitar, stellar bass, and brilliant drumming forge some of the greatest metal ever recorded. Hallowed Be Thy Name is just one of the many standout tracks on this offering. If you've never heard this album, grab a copy and crank it up. ... show more

  • Vinyl Re-Master Review
I owned this on tape and vinyl from the original. Both copies are deceased. I needed this badly. I love the re-master. I can't say it's louder or more compressed than other re-masters. It sounds great and seems to have kept the Martin Birch touch on it. Great album. Buy the vinyl!

  • Very good... but could have been great!
This is a remaster so it won't sound like the copy you had from 1982. The vocals are more prevalent and the guitars take a back seat to bass. It's taken me some time to get used to it but I still prefer the original mix. Having said that, the record is very good. There is some unwanted surface noise between tracks but I can live with it for the price of hunting down a mint 1982 copy. ... show more
