Description

Use highest quality ductile Iron 80000 PSI for minimum bending. The enclosed lead screw and sliding surface are harden and ground. Highest clamping power. It's very accurate and durable. This Vise is so designed that the horizontal force generated by tightening the handle pushes the semi-sphere within the movable jaw and thus thrusts the movable jaw downward. The workplace does not move up, even if it is held at the top of the jaw plates. Four setting positions of the jaw plates are available, widening the jaw plates opening.

  • Ok for the money I guess..
Size: 3 Inch
I’m not going to lie... I Was a little disappointed. 1. When I first pulled it out of the badly beaten box. The vise itself was pretty chipped up because it was flopping around against the handle with only one piece of foam holding it in (nothing at the top) and when I say chips I know that sounds petty, accept for the fact that this was originally a blue vise from the color of the chips! I didn’t notice from the listing at first but after getting it I went back and even the listing has blue chips! the parts that where not Powdercoated the “silver black” color shown had blue showing making it look to me like a refurbished item TBH... I would have never ordered the item had I known this. just didn’t make sense to coat two different colors unless it was a return that was also beaten.. Don’t get me wrong I like the black (it’s the only reason I ordered this) but come on at least strip the blue off first or don’t coat it blue in the first place. I’m sure it will look like total junk after a few years of use which means I’ll probably have to fix your mistakes the right way.... 2. there was some surface rust in a few spots.. nothing steel wool can’t fix but I really shouldn’t have to on a new vise... yeah it’s a cheap vise but I’ve seen items from HF that where better protected... 3. Took forever to ship from one state away.. longer then it would have been if I had just ordered it from eBay. Not thrilled at all having to wait almost a week just to get a tracking number before it shipped especially on an item that was supposedly in stock when I ordered it.. Ok ok so.. Pros: it’s sturdy. HEAVY! glides well, clamps down good. the hardware was an added plus and I like that the swivel base is removable. Size is good for a mini mill such as the Sieg X2 type mini mills and it does leave a good amount of Z clearance with the collets. Would I recommend this vise at this point and time? Honestly No. I would say just buy the blue version at least if it chips it won’t look like someone stole it and tried to repaint it like an amateur...Also at least the blue one ships with prime.. if you don’t mind slow shipping and like lazily refurbished looking stuff then yeah it’s fine.. lol Will it stand the test of time? I have no idea but I will update this review if it doesn’t. You can bet on that. ... show more

  • So far great bang-for-the-buck
Size: 3 Inch
I was shopping for a 3" milling vice for my HF mini-mill (I have a 4" HHIP and it's really too big) and I saw the Bonate for $80. I'd never heard of them before but I liked the description and I liked the look of the head. Of course I would have liked to buy a Kurt vice but ... I haven't really used it yet so I'll have to update later. The finish is generally good with some rough paint work but the head is nicely ground and the jaws seem tight and true. There are cheaper vices listed but I think this was a good choice. This is a true milling vice with a mechanism for applying downward pressure on the work piece when the jaws are locked. Four stars for price. Four stars for overall build quality. ... show more

  • Way better than a drill press vise.
Size: 3 Inch
Took some fiddling to get the handle to go on and off smoothly, but has held stock tight so far on the mill/drill for some milling operations.

  • "Comes with extra screws" instructions are horrible but still a quality product for small projects.
Size: 4 Inch
Works great for what I needed. Comes with screws and no instructions on what there for or where they go but vice work just fine without them. Instruction are in very poor English but all in all its a vice, its pretty self explanatory lol. Definitely worth the money.

  • Very nice vice for the money
This vice is very solid. It is also very heavy and very well built. It clamps your work very well. Definitely worth the money
