I got some minnows from the bayou to live with my mud turtle. The minnows enjoy the flake food much more than pellets I was trying to feed them. The tiniest minnows are actually able to eat these flakes and while the flakes are large, just pinching them before dropping them in the water crumbles them easily to small size flakes. They don’t seem to dirty the water as much as the pellets either. My minnows are healthy and even reproducing in the tank! ... show more

The large size means that you won’t have to buy again often. Large flakes stay at the top of the tank for fish to eat and sinks for bottom feeders without disintegrating. Does not cause cloudy water or have a bad smell. Good protein level for fish health.

I should have looked at the size, for the cost, I can feed my fish and the aquarium in Downtown Denver with this big container of food. While I didnt eat it, my fish look forward to feeding.... So 5 stars is probably what they'd rate it. Although I dont speak fish, I'm sure they'd like to say thank you for making such a gigantic fish food container.
