What can anyone say about Testors???? This product has been around for as long as I can remember. I have been doing models since I was 8 years old. This stuff worked great then and works great now. Yes, it can come out a little fast and runny but you have to be smarter than the tube and not squeeze it when removing and replacing lid. I always open it over a folded paper towel, if too much comes out the towel catches it and I simple use a tooth pick to apply it to model. If it doesn't then I apply directly from the tube. It's not Elmers School glue, it takes patients and practice, but if you have decided to do models, then you should possess those qualities to begin with!!! ... show more

  • Classic testors airplane glue meets a niche....
Color: Original Version
I got out of the habit of using this stuff, instead, preferring the Liquid version using the nice metal cannula, so that you can apply very small amounts of it, however, recently a need arose where I had to go back to my old glue mode. Since I like to use simulated wood decks ( fine detailed balsa wood ) made specifically to fit some classic ship models, such as the Revell Constitution for example, when you have to glue things on top of the balsa wood, you need a model glue with more body, thicker, so it won't run, or absorb quickly into the wood diminishing it's effect. For that purpose, this old style airplane glue fits the bill....it is still very inexpensive, and it was delivered in 2 days, so I was able to use it right away. As I said, for fine work, I don't really like this old style glue , but in this case, it definitely fit a specific need. ... show more

  • My choice always for plastic model work
Color: Original Version
Have used Testors Plastic Cement for decades and it has always been my choice for assembling plastic models. It is sticky enough to adhere well and dries well and makes a good bond. It doesn't dry too fast, so you have a little time to move the parts around slightly to get a good fit, before you have a permanent bond. There are glues out there that are more liquid, but was always afraid to use them for fear of them running too much and ruining the features on the plastic. Note that this glue (and most plastic glues) works by dissolving a little of the plastic, so you do have to be careful not to use too much. If it oozes too much out of the joints you are gluing, it can damage the features of the plastic. The only problem I have had with this glue is that you have to be careful to squeeze the tubes evenly or they can break through; they are made of a soft metal that tends to puncture if you aren't paying attention to how the tube gets crimped as you use up the glue. Testors also makes a good line of paints for models. ... show more

  • I could still easily move the 'glued' pieces
Color: Original Version
This glue does not work for what I intended. I suppose I have my plastics wrong. I am gluing bits and pieces of cocktail swords to replace a broken speedometer needle on my street bike. Even after an overnight sit, I could still easily move the 'glued' pieces. I thought I was ordering #3502, because that is specifically what I had searched for. When this package option was returned as a 'match', I bought it. After an overnight sit of a test joint, the glue was soft and the pieces easily moved. #3512 is a toluene based cement. I tried 100% toluene on a couple of pieces and got the same poor result. I've read that #3502 is an MEK based cement. Curious, I tried MEK on a couple of test pieces. THAT worked very well! 'Know your plastics' is likely the lesson here. I have no idea what cocktail swords are made of, but this glue doesn't glue 'em. ... show more

  • IT WORKED on difficult gluing situation
Color: Original Version
I had recently purchased a "pro built" plastic Spitfire, in 1/48, that arrived with both landing gears separated from the airframe. It appeared broken where it connects to the airframe. So, I had to re-glue both plastic landing gears to the plastic airframe. Since I had/have no experience with glueing plastic models, I purchased both the Tamiya Thin Cement, and TESTORS Cement for Plastic Models, (in case either glue failed). I tried the Tamiya cement first, and It failed even after several attempts at holding the landing gear in place for over 4 minutes. The next day, I tried the Testors glue. I held each landing gears, (one at a time, to the airframe for less than a minute, and each held fast. Both landing gears stayed in place, and the glued connection remained flexible enough to allowed adjustments, without coming unglued. Since the airframe is light weight, I set it on it's landing gear after about 5 hours. Also, while gluing the landing gear I inadvertently broke off the antenna, so I re-glued that too. A week later, all the glued connections of holding fast. With that success, I tried to glue another landing gear (just one) that had broken off. This one from a die-cast FW190D, scale 1/72, that I was having trouble gluing with super glue (medium weight). After about a minute of holding the plastic landing gear to the die-cast fame, the Testors glue held the landing gear in place, and remained flexible enough to adjust its position to match the unbroken one. Although it appeared dried solid after a couple of hours, I did not set the heavy airframe on its landing gear until the next day, just to make sure! A week later, the plastic landing gear is still holding the heavy diecast airframe! ... show more

  • Great for bonding D&D minis to their base
Color: Original Version
I use these to bond Dungeons & Dragons miniatures to their bases. The bond is definitely permanent, it will take some practice to figure out how much to apply however. Too much and you'll end up with excess glue smeared along the edges of the miniature with the base. Too little and you run the risk of the bond being too weak and the mini detaching from the base. ... show more

  • Very strong
Color: Original Version
It bonds very strong if you have enough surface area contact. I like the pointy tip that is included in case you need to get into those tight spots. When you put the cap on, they should not dry, and if they do, you can easily remove them from the metal tube. Since the tube is metal, it will ooze out too fast if you squeeze it hard. I use them mostly to bind 3d printed parts of PLA, but they should work on ABS too. I'm sure they can do metal and wood. The smell is extremely strong, but they work well. I do like that they have some viscosity which helps positioning a bit before it completely cures. You'll need to wait at least 24 hours to ensure full cure. ... show more
