  • Perfect for needlepoint
Style: headband magnifying glasses
I enjoy doing hand embroidery. When I have to take my kid to his various weekly therapy appointments, I used to find myself just playing on my phone while I waited that hour for him to finish. Sometimes, multiple times a week. One day, I decided I should bring my hand embroidery along and just listen to an audiobook while I stitched. Problem? The lighting in the lobby was horrible. As winter set in and the sun set sooner, it got worse. So I picked these up and, wow. Just the light alone is great. No more strained eyes when I'm stitching in the lobby. I've even stitched in my living room when the only light on was the flow of the TV where my husband was gaming. I was able to see everything I needed to see with perfect clarity, and I didn't disrupt anyone else like I used to when I used my table lamp. The magnifier is great. I use the 1.5x or 2x for my work. I don't necessarily need it, but it is a nice perk and I do enjoy stitching more with this feature. The battery holds a pretty decent charge. I've only had the battery die on me once, right after I got them when I didn't really know what the battery life was like. Lately, I've only been using them about 1hr a week, give or take. So I plug them in every couple weeks. In the past, I've used them a couple of hours a week (2hrs worth of therapy appt waiting time, and then additional time stitching while watching TV). During these times, I would try to give it a 15-20min plug every day before I'd start using them. There is a red light to indicate when it's charging, and a green light to indicate when it's done. It's very bright and easily noticeable. The product overall does seem to be a little flimsy/lower quality. But, they're not marketed to be high quality and the price point makes it clear they're not going to be anything amazing. I didn't know if I'd love using these and I didn't want to invest too much on a trial run. But, I know I love using this product now. If/when these ones die on me, what I replace them with will depend on how long these ones last me. If I can get at least a year out of these (preferably more), then I'd happily replace them with the exact same product. However, anything less than a year and I would find something better. And the only reason I feel that way is because environmentally, I try not to be a contributor to excessive waste. The nose rest is uncomfortable. It pinches my nose and leaves red marks. I've tried adjusting it but can't find that perfect fit. It's okay though. It's a small price to pay for how beneficial they are. I'm sure some day I'll figure out the adjustment. In the meantime, I just try to take them off every once in a while to give my nose a break. Any discomfort or red marks I get from the ill-fit is extremely short lived. All in all, I do recommend this product for hobbies that require good lighting and fine detail work. ... show more

  • Very Impressed !!!
Style: headband magnifying glasses
This one has been a life saver...especially when building wiring harness with the smaller Molex and like brand plugs. The quality Is very much worth the price and It's not CHEAP Junk !!! I was and am very happy with this purchase. The only thing that worries me a little Is the lens retainer. I don't know how long It will hold up to repeated lens changes. But, I have no way to know and only time will tell on that. Even If It fails after 6 months you still get your monies worth. This Is very well made on every other function, and I may be just barking at the moon on this one worry. ... show more

  • Not Bad At All!
Style: headband magnifying glasses
The lenses are not quite as strong as I would like. I bought these for painting Warhammer 40K minis (I’m 45, so my eyesight is not great) and while these do help, the strongest magnification lens at 3X isn’t really strong as I would like. I wonder where I could find stronger lenses that would fit in this, like a 5X or so. Hey Seller, if you sell a stronger lens that will fit please reply and let me know. I wear contact lenses for the most part, but when I’m home I’m just wearing my glasses because, if you yourselves wear contacts, you know that your eyes need a break. If you wear prescription glasses you will need to remove the temples (the ‘arms’ of the frames that secure your glasses to your face and beyond your ears are actually called ‘temples’. I just found that out the other day!) and I strongly suggest removing the nose piece. By doing so you can just use the strap to hold this puppy on your face far easier than if you keep the nose piece on. The headset is pretty light, though I’ve not worn it for a period of hours yet; therefore, I will come back and update this review if I find the weight to be an issue over a long period of time. While the temples pull right out, the rest of the temples and the nose piece are attached by screws. YOU WILL NEED A SUPER TINY PHILLIPS HEAD SCREWDRIVER TO REMOVE THEM. Your local Dollar Tree or Dollar General store sells a small eyeglass kit that comes with screwdrivers, so it’ll only cost you a buck or so. The light is quite nice! It also doesn’t take long at all to charge. I don’t know yet far how long the light will run before needing to be recharged; I plan on finding that out today while I finally stop putting it off and start painting some minis. Attached to this review is a picture of the actor David Harbour (who was a criminally underrated Hellboy!) who, like me, is a Black Templars player and you will notice that he’s wearing this item while he paints his Warhammer 40,000 minis. If it’s good enough for a guy that makes a few million bucks a year than it’s good enough for you and I, right? Right. BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD! SKULLS FOR THE SKULL THRONE! LET TH… Uhhh, I mean “The Emperor protects! All praise the Imperium!”. Yeah, that’s totally what I meant. Oh crap, an Inquisitor just appeared on my doorstep. ... show more

  • Great Buy!
Style: headband magnifying glasses
I just got mine and LOVE LOVE LOVE them. Great price for these. I have been using an old pair from years ago. Wish I would have known about these sooner. Someone recommended them on FB in a Monarch Butterfly group. She used them to find the teeny tiny caterpillars. They will be great for reading very small print, getting splinters out of your hand or foot, threading needles, painting my fingernails....WOW...there is so many reasons a person with poor eyesight or the need to do close up work. The glasses have a USB port for charging or you can use antiquated batteries. The 5 magnifying lenses have their own case with a cleaning cloth. Sleek and lightweight! HIGHLY RECOMMEND! ... show more
