  • saved lots of money on receiver for new 4k projector
Color: Red
This little box is exactly what I needed. I just got a 4k projector. I also have a very expensive, but older receiver that is not capable of pulling out the audio from 4k signals, nor of passing it on to the projector in anything higher than 1080p. Enter the switchbox. I now run 4k hdmi out from my xbox one x and my PC graphics card and I get the full 4k resolution to my projector. Best of all. the switchbox pulls out the digital audio signal and sends it seamlessly to my receiver via optical cable. Perfect solution, no need to but another receiver! One very important note. Even though all HDMI cables have the same PIN OUT setup, you NEED to use certified 4k high speed 18gb ps cables to transmit 4k over anything more than about 9 feet. My original cables, which worked fine in 1080p, were cutting out terribly on this new system, and I thought the switch box was defective. That was NOT the case, the switch box was fine but my older cables were too long and not certified 18gb ps. I bought all new monoprice hdmi cables, made sure I used only 3' cables from the pc and xbox to the switchbox, and shortened my cable length to the projector, and wallah! no more screen cutting out, no more dropped signal. this little box is sturdy and well built, it has both a remote control [though I have to ding them for not explaining the remote control buttons at all, only the arrow keys seem to do anything, switching the inputs] and the audio separation is flawless. If you just upgraded to 4k and need to send out a 4k signal but your receiver cannot handle 4k, this is definitely the solution you need and want, as long as your receiver has optical audio inputs. ... show more

  • Finally found an HDMI switch with audio extraction that works!
Color: Red
This is my 5th 4K 18gbps HDR HDMI switch. I am using it because there is an audio delay for all my devices when hooked up via ARC to the soundbar. With an audio extraction switch the delay is gone, which is good because i am hyper sensitive to the mismatch between voice/lips when audio is out of sync. Every other switch like this i have tried has had issues, either audio cutouts, Dolby Vision not supported, etc. This switch works perfectly on my ATV4K, Xbox OneX, and cable box. 4K60Hz/HDR/DolbyVision has worked perfectly so far. No audio dropouts, and switching between inputs is the fastest I have seen. I am keeping my fingers crossed that it continues to work, as i have has some others that were ok for a few days, then the problems started showing up (audio dropout, video loss needing hard reboot, etc.). I had to cover up the front lights with tape as they were crazy bright, not sure why these products come with such bright lights, it seems silly as when you watch in a dark room it is brighter than the tv! Also wish that power on/off was an option via remote/IR, there is just a physical switch on the front, which i guess is better than no power switch at all. Anyway, if you are like me, and have tried so many switches with audio extraction, and have had issues getting all formats to work reliably, this may be the switch for you. I'll update review if things deteriorate, but for now this one is a winner! ... show more

  • Worth the money!
Color: Red
I purchased my unit in May. I’ve had 2 other hdmi switches w/ audio extractor to use with my Epson 6030ub projector. It’s given the best picture quality compared to the other two and has the 5.1 surround output. All of my components, Samsung blu ray, kids ps4, roku ultra and digital tv tuner are set to 1080p to match the projector. It stopped working correctly in the beginning of November and wouldn’t recognize the projector, I switched hdmi cables and still had the issue. After getting in touch with the tech service, they gave me the option to replace or refund. I chose to replace it because stuff happens. Their customer service is awesome and I will be buying more products from them in the future!! ... show more

  • Have 2 of these, work great, but power adapter failed on one of them
Color: Red
I have had 2 of these hooked up for last 5 months and one of them just went dead. I was ready to order another because they work well, hoping it was just a bad unit. However, I played with it and found out it was just the power adapter cord, and I happened to have another one left over from something else with same 5V, 1A output and same connector, so used that one. So I'll put it at 4-stars vs 5-stars, since power adapter went dead. Here is the system I have: (see schematic) I have 2 laptops and 1 desktop that I wanted connected to the same 2 monitors, to be able to switch from one to the other easily. So I bought a Plugable docking station that makes it easy to connect/disconnect the laptops. I ran the 2 outputs from the pluggable to each TES Splitter. Then I ran a direct HDMI from my desktop to each TES Splitter, and then an output from each TES splitter to a monitor. It makes it very easy to switch from any desktop or laptop and have 2 monitor display. In addition, I use the Logitech K780 multi-device keyboard and M720 Multi-device mouse so I can use the same keyboard and mouse just my clicking button 1,2, or 3. This setup preserves the high resolution of each input device, which is critical with the graphics work I do. ... show more

  • Works with Nvidia Shield, Sonos Playbar, and BenQ Projector
Color: Red
I bought this box a few years ago and it worked perfectly so Nvidia Shield could send 4k video to my BenQ 4k projector and my old Sonos Playbar could play Dolby Digital 5.1 audio. The box was always on for a few years then died. I tried a different box from a different manufacturer and that one failed miserably despite seemingly being the same specs. I ended up buying this little red box again and the new one works just fine. My guess is that the old one died from being left on all the time. I will turn it off after each use from now on. In any case, I had tried several other boxes a few years ago and this is the one that works to extract audio to TOSlink for a Sonos Playbar... and it still seems to be the rare switch box that actually works. Keep in mind this box is not what you necessarily would need for a newer Sonos Arc or Beam that uses HDMI. This use case is for the older Playbar. The newer Arc and Beam require something else called eARC or a box that can handle eARC. This is NOT that box. Nice little box... does not break the bank and just simply works for this use case. ... show more
