  • Poor documentation, but overall works well
Size: 4x4 Matrix
Product seems to work as advertised. The EIDID dip switch was poorly documented, not entirely sure how it works with 4 inputs and 4 outputs? But otherwise just plug in your inputs and outputs as labeled, and it just seems to work. Nicely constructed, the metal case adds a 'heft' to it that makes it feel solid and not cheap and plasticky(sp) So far this guy works completely as advertised, but I wish the EDID switch settings were better explained as to which input/output they correspond to. The included link to the YouTube video was nice, but as long as you can read the port labels, unnecessary. All in all worth the money so far. Far superior to the <$20 hdmi switches out there. This thing switches, clones, and downscales perfectly. ... show more

  • Not fully compatible with PS5
Size: 2x2 Matrix
I had originally purchased this to have my Xbox Series X and a 4K Chromecast. The matrix mostly worked but occasionally the item needed to be turned on/off to get the signal to switch over. Upon getting my PS5 I swapped out the Series X for the PS5 and it stopped working at all. Funny enough when I removed the Chromecast the matrix began working again. I have no idea why this was the case but I tested with the Chromecast plugged back in and it stopped working again. ... show more

  • Plug and play
Size: 8x8 Matrix
The concept seemed straightforward. The manual was a bit intimidating. In fact, it was almost plug and play. We had 2 inputs to start with and 4 outputs. 2 were on HDMI Cat 5 extenders, one was just HDMI and one output was a wireless HDMI extender. We also used the audio splitter for our main input channel and linked it to the mixer for our church. All worked beautifully. Hint: for video routing, follow the simple but important instruction—push the output channel FIRST, then push the input source you want to route from. A couple of reviews complained about all the output resolutions having to be at the lowest setting common to all. I found that not to be true. The resolution can be selected then “copied “ to an individual output channel. Bottom line, it’s pretty easy to use. I spent about an hour unboxing, reviewing the manual, hooking up connections and had it up and running very well. And I don’t have a lot of experience…. ... show more

  • Pricey but worth it!
Size: 8x8 Matrix
This device solved so many of my HDMI headaches. My Man-cave has a dual zone 4K/UHD/Atmos setup in addition to several other displays (mixed resolutions) where I host many sports/video gaming events. This has not only eliminated a lot of over-complication in my setup, but has made it night and day difference to navigate. As an odd and unexpected result, netted me dual zone Atmos and Dolby Vision all while playing nicely with the rest of my mixed resolution setup. If I had to give it any criticism I'd say the fans are a bit louder than they should be (but this is just me being over critical), also, even though I've disabled CEC function on the device it still gives various components commands (this one is the most bothersome, but nothing a CEC-less adapter or two can't solve). If it stands the test of time, I will be more than happy with this purchase, I will update if anything goes awry. ... show more

  • It's passing ATMOS for me - EDIT it introduces screen distortion
Size: 4x4 Matrix
ATMOS is not mentioned anywhere in the user manual or specs or website. But I just hooked it up and it's passing ATMOS for me. Maybe they didn't pay for licensing so they can't advertise it? Or maybe it works but it's not supported and I may run into glitches, I don't know. But, so far so good. IR commands are available to download from the mfg's website. But I just learned the remote over to my URC remote and that was easier/faster to figure out. There are a few glitches when switching from my Nvidia Shield 4K to my HTPC 4K. But they are just a singular, momentary glitch. Could just be my setup. Someone in other reviews complained about how slow it is to change video inputs. That has nothing to do with this device. That's an HDMI 2.0 (and older) technology issue. Don't want to wait 5-6 seconds for the next display to come up on your TV!?? Then invest in the newer HDMI 2.1 spec. That one supposedly switches faster thanks to VRR. I really wanted to buy the HDFury VRRoom but it's more than twice as expensive. But if you can afford it, that's the way to go instead of this one. Another bit of misinformation in the reviews is that this defaults to the lowest resolution monitor in your chain. ROOKIES. Set up your EDID to the best monitor. Then for lower resolution monitors, set those outputs to "downscale". Right now, I have a 4K projector on one output. An analog audio extractor and a 1080P monitor on another output. On output #3, I have my 4K AVR. And on output #4 I have it set to downscale to 1080P and it goes to a second HDMI switcher which is connected to a 720P and a 1080P monitor. Works great! I'm getting 4K on the outputs configured for 4K and I'm getting 1080P on the outputs configured to downscale to 1080P. EDIT: It's giving me weird screen artifacts when I view my 4K HTPC computer as a source. If I remove the matrix, the artifacts go away. You can hardly see them, but they are there. I've ruled out cabling, etc. EDIT 2: I gave it a second shot. The second unit didn't have any HTPC artifacts. But I discovered the built-in EDID is not compatible with Nvidia Shield 2019 Pro as it only provides 5.1 and not 7.1 audio. The copy-EDID may be an option for you but that option always introduces instability in the long-term. ... show more

  • This is a godsend with multiple devices.
Size: 4x4 Matrix
I didn’t know this even existed. The ability to select a different input for each individual output is truly remarkable. It is a game changer. When I coupled it with HDMI over Cat five, I could eliminate half of my equipment. I no longer needed to have a separate amplifier for my projector, video output, or a separate Blu-ray, or a separate cable box. Now, I can have the cable box, Blu-ray or whatever sent to the projector while on another channel I have the same ones sent to the TV without having to switch back-and-forth. Absolutely perfect. And it works great. ... show more
