Both augers work well , the only reason I have this 4 stars is because the longer auger comes in two pieces vs the one piece look in the pictures. This makes it much more likely to disconnect if you have to reverse the drill. I had to really tighten the two sections with large wrenches to ge fit tight enough to where the drill wasn’t able to disable the parts when in reverse ... show more

This does the job, assuming you're not trying to auger hard clay, but instead decent soil that isn't overly compacted. Also, don't just jam it in the dirt and pull the trigger fully on your cordless drill. Go slow, don't push down hard, and let the auger do the work. It is strong and sturdy but the tip isn't good for drilling into hard dirt. We had to use a 3/4 hole saw to start the hole before we used the auger to make the hole for the tree plants we were planting. It would have been nice to be able to use one tool vs two.
