Finally a container that is actually air tight and can store a decent amount. The parts appear to be well made. We store our big bag of Costco rice in it (25lbs). It mostly fits it all. The trick is to have another container that is easier to get to to store the remainder... we use a OXO pop up. The only downside is that you have to grab it from the sides and I can definitely see that being an issue for someone who is frail. They should have molded the plastic with external handholds are incorporated a handle the lid. Other than that, it works great so far. Will update if something changes. ... show more

    • Not as airtight as I’d have hoped
It’s a good produce, fits a ton of rice no problem. Only gripe is that you can pretty easily pull the lid off while it’s in the “sealed/locked” position. But as long as you don’t grab it by that, it’s pretty good.

It's clear, keeps my rice bug free, only there's no handle to lift or carry it when you need to, the handle on it is for opening and closing it tight, otherwise, it would've been perfect.

The item arrived undamaged. It included a plastic measuring cup and an instruction sheet showing how to disassemble and reassemble the 4-piece lid for cleaning. The lid required assembly. I've opened and closed the lid once per day on average for 4 months and the seal is still air tight. The container can hold a 20-pound bag of rice with less than an inch of space remaining under the closed lid, which means that the measuring cup will have to be mostly buried in the rice to close the lid when the container is full (this is just an observation; it's not a problem). The measuring cup is marked with "1/4", "1/2", and "3/4" but they do not correspond with the US standard cup. Filling to the "1/2" mark actually equals 1/3 US cup; and filling to the top is actually 3/4 US cup. Note: The handle on the lid is NOT for lifting and carrying the container! Pushing the handle down causes the rubber ring on the lid to expand and seal against the bucket, creating an air-tight seal. Pulling the handle up releases the rubber ring so that the lid easily removes for access to the bucket's contents. If you must move the bucket when it's heavy, lift it up by the sides and bottom, not by the handle on the lid. This is perfectly fine for me as I won't frequently need to move it from its reserved location on my kitchen counter. ... show more

Received in great shape. It came in a box. (How else? Right?). No damage. Works as advertised. Airtight. Also, the handle is not for holding. It is part of the "suction" system that helps keep the container airtight. If you lift it by the handle and you just have a pound or two in the container, it may work, but if it is full up, and you lift it by the handle, it WILL come off.
